Description

A huge terraforming company you give a huge amount of money to make them come and save your planet by making it great and green again. Too bad that they will probably also fill your planet with golf courses, rally tracks and whatever it is what rich people do. And it more than once happened that Hathor industries accidently turned a planet into a dead waste, or turn the magnetic fields upside down, killing entire populations by doing so. So hiring them is not without risk.

A painting I made for a workshop I'm giving soon in the Netherlands.

Holy, epically magnificent! This Retro-TasticΒ Hathor Industries Headquarters is stunning and The Spaceships look incredible! The towers, buildings, structures, pendulums, architecture, sky, clouds, water fountain, decor, characters, outfits, expressions, poses, trees, bushes, plant life, lasers, effects, neon lights, park, bridges, domes, perspective, realisticness, flow, movement, atmosphere, textures, hues, composition, concept, uniqueness, lighting, colors, style, and other details are also wonderful! Amazingly radical work!

This one looks like the vikings developed even further, built their home into a ship, flew it somewhere else and landed. ^^
It's beautiful.

Really like the drawing. A great concept how architecture could look like in the future, with buildings not only getting taller, but designers making art out of factories even. The story snippet you provided in the describtion gets your imagination going and fits the picture perfectly. If that would be a movie/series, i'd watch it for sure.

its clear you put a lot of effort into this just by the sheer amount of detail you have going on here. very imaginative and breaks the mold.

I love your description and the cityscape looks great behind that great beast of a building. Can they make Earth great again? Or are they more likely to flip our magnetic field?

I really like the contrasting colour balance; the deep reds and oranges, against the cooler blues and silvers. The accompanying story concept is engaging too!

Hope you don't mind, but I used your image to prompt a piece of flash fiction;Β dakoa.deviantart.com/art/The-R…

The image is included as a preview for the writing (credited of course), setting the scene for the narrative. If you like it then great! If not and you'd like me to remove the preview just let me know.

I know it's silly to nitpick the art's description, but how exactly does one flip an entire planet's magnetic field upside down? And even then, how would that even remotely harm anyone?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThEpOnDdUcK In reply to Haganeth [2016-10-27 19:49:32 +0000 UTC]

depends on the population. imagine you had hardened bones with magnetic materials in them for excample, or a huge power plant working with magnetics that then just melts down, or a magnetic transportation that is expanded worldwide. magnets can bring great destruction due to the possible power

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Haganeth In reply to ThEpOnDdUcK [2016-10-28 07:21:30 +0000 UTC]

But a planet's magnetic field is relatively weak... All it does is protect us from solar winds, it has nearly no direct effect on the objects on earth. If you were to flip it, you might get skin cancer due to the fact that the magnetic field has to weaken a bit before flipping, but then you'd just need a new compass.

ThEpOnDdUcK In reply to Haganeth [2016-10-28 20:43:27 +0000 UTC]

what if every one on that planet is a metaller? like they depend on it!!! ITS DESTRUCTION

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Haganeth In reply to ThEpOnDdUcK [2016-10-28 20:48:55 +0000 UTC]

A metaller? Like they listen to metal music? Well, I don't know if a flip would affect the electronics that allow you to listen to music so...

Interesting choice of using so much fog/mist/smoke in the atmosphere. It really served the purpose of making this thing look HUGE and fitting the story behind it bout terraforming the planet. The red-ish tones fit perfectly and the lightning is awesome! Β Can i know what are those red thingys flying over the buildings at the background?Β
