Gannon, the Prince of Darkness, faces Link in the final chamber of Death Mountain from the original Legend of Zelda.
As a kid, few things were more important to me than Legend of Zelda. I was Link for many Halloweens and I often created "dungeons" out of couch cushions and blankets around our house. Hyrule was a constant source of inspiration for drawings which continues even today.
This scene is when you first enter Gannon's (not a typo) chamber and Link holds the completed Triforce above him. During my first play through of the game, my hands were sweaty when I saw this final boss after hours of navigating his maze-like dungeon.
I took liberties in the design here so in b4 omg inaccurate

Do you watch ERASED (boku dake ga inai machi is the Japanese name)? It's sooooo good, you really should. It's beautiful, cute, sad and action-full (XD) but not annoying. It's ongoing and on its sixth episode.

WOW! I am impressed! Ganon looks really cool! It is so beautiful! If this was used in an HD remake for Zelda on NES, this would surely be a tremendous cutscene for sure!

I may not be an 80's kid, but I love the Legend of Zelda probably as much as you do. I was born in the 90's and experienced the OoT when the Zelda games became what they are today. I really think its awesome that you had this artistic representation of the game that started it all.

It looks awesome! I love all the detail you put into everything, especially Gannon: his armor, his musculature, the designs on his staff... I also like how you drew the light coming from the Triforce and the ground near Link's feet.

Ganon looks like a Hindu go! Awesome! I always picture Link as being in his 20s, but other than that I WOULDN't change a thing.

Except in Ocarina of Time where he is 11 in half the game and 18 in the other half. Otherwise, his exact age anywhere else in the series is open to interpretation.

man, i remember the day when i stumbled through Gannon's layer and reached him. i was like OMG!! It's Gannon, a giant blue pig-man!!! i was the first of my friends to battle Gannon and i was the first to defeat him! my hands were so sweaty and i was so nervous and excited. that was the best game ever IMO. i also loved the Super Nintendo version. I wish Gannon remained the blue pig-man. i never cared for the later incarnation of him.

The series hasn't been the same since. At least ALBW calls back to pre-Ocarina games (ALTTP) for its source. Can't wait for my copy of it to arrive..!

This really puts the boss fight in perspective. A little kid fighting a mutated boar/sorcerer. Great job with Gannon's staff.
