This art piece depicts an actual event I had at HarmonyCon 2024.

And yes this piece will be featured in my HarmonyCon 2024 Stories videos (With maybe a few updates.)

Not to go into too much detail before I release the videos. I'll probably reveal more of the story in the actual videos. But basically HarmonyCon 2024 was an intense emotional experience for me from beginning to end.

And this particular experience was appropriately on Sunday. I had seen Lightning Bliss’s booth along with Dusk, in the vendor hall for a while but I was very hesitant to approach her.

But then something clicked in my mind. I remembered something important. Or more accurately… someone.

My best friend online. Heartpaw Phoenix…

There was a brief time where she knew Lightning Bliss and some of her friends. But the way she got to know them and got along with them involved a complex series of dominoes.

Where a friend of hers invited her to a group where Lightning Bliss and her friends were. But Heartpaw was hesitant about joining, so she came to me and asked if it was worth joining the group and getting to know her and her friends and to get along.

And so I said yes. I convinced her that she could get along and that there was a way to do it.

And so she did. And aside from a few duel calls where she jumped back and forth. That’s all I knew, I just knew she was there.

Until she died…

When I was at the con I had to know. I had to know once and for all that she actually got along with them, that she was actually behaving friendly and getting along with Lightning Bliss and her friends. That she followed my advice.

For pete’s sake. I was at a con in her home state. And so despite how nervous I was I asked her, and Dusk apparently knew her too, and I couldn’t have been anymore satisfied with the answer.

And so what I was told was. Lightning Bliss loved her and Heartpaw was actually getting along with them. She listened to me and it worked.

I felt like I was gonna cry. And Lightning Bliss hugged me. In many ways, it really did feel like Heartpaw was helping her friend see a window I desperately needed to from beyond the grave.

Later on. I came back to her for one last time to get her autograph. And she only asked me one thing. A promise. “Please keep her memory alive.”

And yes. This art piece is one way of many that I will keep that promise. Trust me this won't be the last time I do something like this.

The one thing I remember about our friendship is that we both wanted what the other had. But the one thing she definitely needed, was time.

And so, the lord and his kindness. He gives me what she’s always needed. He gives me more time.

And Lightning Bliss. If you’re seeing this thank you so much I hope you enjoy this piece. And thank you so much for getting along so well with my friend. <3
