This is definitely an awe inspiring piece for a fan based work. I can literally feel the tension in the air as the wind picks up the dust, the soldiers raising their spears, and Link ready to give an official order for a charge. The artist wanted to put a hardcore feeling into the Legend of Zelda, and they certainly accomplished that. The textures, atmosphere, and the colors really bring it together - I'm also very impressed that Link's green tunic did not overpower the foreground, since Green is usually a pretty bold color.
Though the artwork is more than exceptional, there are a few things that seem a little off. Link's face seems to be too hollow - the cheekbones make him feel emaciated rather than hard set and ready to win a battle. I can tell the artist was trying to make him very heroic looking, but the face ruins the impact of the piece. Not far from Link, the Goron off to the right also seems to be having lip problems, but in the picture as a whole, it doesn't matter too much. Another thing to point out is Link's right shoulder. It looks a little too high and it makes Link look incredibly uncomfortable to be holding it in that position. Other than those minor things, the piece really comes out strong - definitely one to be recognized by any Zelda fan! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

Hello, TylerEdlinArt.
I am making a video on the possibility of a war taking place during Zelda Wii U as a part of my Zelda Unknown series on YouTube, and I would be honoured if I could feature this amazing piece of art in the episode with a shoutout and obviously credits (textbox) within in the video and in the description of it.
The title for the episode will be "Hyrule Battlefield".Β
Greetings
Commonwealth Realm. (YouTube channel)

When can we get a game like this? Where Link leads an Army to stop Ganon. That would be awesome is all I am saying.

shouldnt be a surprise in the image description it reads, " I was of course inspired by Frank Frazetta, The art of guild wars, and the legend of zelda series by nintendo."

No problem! I really like LOZ and can't get enough of it. I have something Zelda-ish I made, but its kinda bad compared to this.

You know, so many questions riddled my mind when I saw this piece. Your title is to blame for that. What does it mean? Is Hyrule on the verge of annihilation or is it close to achieving an ever lasting peace? Where is Zelda? Deceased? Either way, I love this. It gives me a sense of inspiration and, really, I iwsh I could see what happens next. Very well done. Very impressed here.

The title doesn't really mean too much. I just wanted to give the pic something appropriate. I like that it raises such questions though

Agreed on the "keep the overly lightheated toon games on the ds." Hopefully they go for that route; I want to see an actual war happen IN a Zelda game for a change, rather than just talk about it in the backstory. ^_^
Awesome job on this pic.
