Very unique! I find it very interesting how you are able to take such a large stock (meaning the large tree) and yet keep the viewer's eye from being overwhelmed by it as they look at the piece. Instead, the eye is drawn into the background, taking your focus off of the forefront.
I also find that the coloring of this piece is both soothing and yet, at the same time, could be foreboding if used properly. It seems as if the tree and the surrounding forest are hiding something; be it benign or not. It almost makes you want to take the journey and discover which it is, in fact!
All in all, an excellent piece and I have to say, I do believe it's going to be 'faved'!

This name and picture brought this up for me, and I feel the picture captures this quotation perfectly. When I first saw it, I held my breath.
As for critique, I think it could have been darker, maybe a bit more green in the lower leaves. But it's great the way it is for what you wanted. If you were making a psycho-forest, darker is better.
