Was looking for tanuki art and saw this and that you had a link to one site so I thought I would give another I just found that is an in depth analysis of tanuki lore and cultural history. Gotta love trickster characters!

Aww, hahaha, it definitely made me smile. I love the colours in this, very pretty. The light is also extremely beautiful. You did an excellent job on his fur. His expression is so mischevious. I love the overal pose he is in and the shape of his furry body. The leaf looks great and I love his bottle. I like this picture because it has that old Japanese magic to it. Darnit...I wish I could find Pom Poko because seeing this reminded me of that movie. Beautiful job. I did not realize that about the Mario game before either.
