I always assumed that Shedinja only steals your soul if you look TOO CLOSELY into the crack on its back. Like, if you tried to stick your head into it(and I can completely understand why a Shedinja would steal a soul in that case).

-ok 1st of all the pokedex sys:
"Peering into the crack on its back is SAID TO steal one's spirit"
NOT
"IT WILL steal the spirit of anyone looking in the crack on its back"
meaning that it's a romer (Ie. may or may not be true)
-2ed of all even assuming that that romer is true
it dos'nt say weder glaceing into the crack on it's back by acadent counts or not, so for all anyone knows it only steals your soal if you your perpisly trying to look into it's crack meaning that trainers who's eyes just happen to glace past the crack, or are looking at it but not reely paying atencon to it wod'nt necacaraly get there spirits stolen.
-3ed (also assuming the romer is true)
the pokedex dos'nt state weder the spirit stealing is something Shedinga's body dos's automatically or if Shedinga willingly steals spirits
If it's the lader then it's likely that a Shedinga would chose not to steal it's trainer's spirit unless it REELY disliked it's trainer and/or the trainer violated the Shedinga in some way (Ex. the trainer stuck there head into Shedinga's crack)
-4th (again assuming the romer is true)
the pokedex dos'nt state how long someone has to look into the crack to lose there spirit, so even if it was a reflexive thing, that dos'nt necacaraly mean looking at it . will end up with your soal stolen

Please try to remember before you correct someone else that you have difficulties typing or spelling. It looks like you don't have your facts together. I have fixed your spelling for you, perhaps you might take note how they are spelled, and use these correct spellings in the future.
-Ok 1st of all the pokedex says:
"Peering into the crack on its back is SAID TO steal one's spirit."
NOT
"IT WILL steal the spirit of anyone looking in the crack on its back."
Meaning that it's a rumor. (I.e. may or may not be true.)
-2nd of all even assuming that that rumor is true:
It doesn't say whether glaceing into the crack on it's back by accident counts or not, so for all anyone knows it only steals your soul if you your purposely trying to look into it's crack meaning that trainers who's eyes just happen to glance past the crack, or are looking at it but not really paying attention to it wouldn't necessarily get their spirits stolen.
-3rd (also assuming the rumor is true)
The pokedex doesn't state whether the spirit stealing is something Shedinja's body does this automatically or if Shedinja willingly steals spirits.
If it's the latter then it's likely that a Shedinja would chose not to steal it's trainer's spirit unless it REALLY disliked it's trainer and/or the trainer violated the Shedinja in some way. (Ex. the trainer stuck there head into Shedinja's crack.)
-4th (again assuming the rumor is true)
the pokedex doesn't state how long someone has to look into the crack to lose there spirit, so even if it was a reflexive thing, that doesn't necessarily mean looking at it will end up with your soul stolen.

My shedinja knows: Ariel Ace, X-Scissor, Double Team, and Shadow Claw. he mainly knows offensive moves because he has a ton of attack. I'm trying to get a focus sash for him so he could handle 2 attacks instead of one :3

Its in the pokedex entry that it steels your soul if you look into the whole in its back.

This issue with logic most likely comes from the fact that ten year old kids are filling in the Pokedex. The various professors don't have the data or else they wouldn't send you out - so, by putting in so many Pokedex entries with logic issues (i.e. Magcargo's stating its body temperature is 18000 degrees Fahrenheit, hotter than the SURFACE OF THE SUN), you're screwing over years and years of hard work and data collection regarding Pokemon. I hope you're happy, Pokemon trainers...

never necessarily said that in the games, where the pokedex entry is from, and even in the show, gengar and friends were more or less friendly.

I don't recall that, though some specific pokemon might have some harmful natures, I don't think all ghost types do.
