Well, since the offspring would be 5/8 feline (4/8 of it anthro), 2/8 equine and only 1/8 being a bird, I would rather expect an anthro hyppogryph, with more feline parts (Tail, claws and perhaps eyes)...Β Genetics is magic

Well, the bird part of all Griffon variants seems to be the dominant genetic trait. The mammal part on the other hand seems to be replaceble. Griffon ( Bird/Cat ) + Horse = Hippogriff ( Bird/Horse )Β

I'm not sure about that. When you look at Skystar (The land form from the movie), you see, that she is mostly a pony- The body shape, hind feet, wings and most of the head are from a pony. The only thing she carries from the bird part, is her beak. And the cat herritage is not lost either- look at her front feet. Those are cat paws... That would actually match the half horse and quarter of a bird and quarter of a cat genetics...
