As a meme freak, I couldn't help but do one of those improvement memes...sooner or later
I wanted something simple, that wasn't so time-consuming so I picked one of the non-colored pieces I was most proud of, in the past. The piece's from around 2007 and is a fanart of the Goddess Martel from Tales of Symphonia. I took around one month to finish it
and the new one...I took one hour.
I think I improved quite a bit in the past four years, eh?
Maybe next time I will make one with a colored piece.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily an improvement so much as a change of direction in style. Your first picture actually looks close to something Ghibli might put out. Both are very good.
