Description
The inner core of Dumbledore's Army. I actually wanted to draw these six kids for a really long time now - actually since I've read the Order of the Phoenix for the first time. As I'm currently re-reading the same book, I had the perfect source of inspiration. (It took me several weeks to get the drawing done though because I was only able to work on it once or twice a week.)I decided to draw the kids with their pets as a kind of group photograph as I have already for the Marauders in 2011 and the original Avatar Gaang in 2012. We have in the first row from left to right: Neville with his toad Trevor, Harry and his owl Hedwig, and Ron with his owl Pigwidgeon. And in the second row: Luna, who has no pet, Ginny with her pygmy puff Arnold, and Hermione with her kneazle-cat Crookshanks.

Drawn with Polychromos color pencils on heavy sketch paper. I used references for the owls and the toad.
Harry Potter and its awesomeness belong to J.K. Rowling.
P.S.: As you can see, I never abandon a fandom. I will always come back to it. (;

A far more realistical rendering of six average teenagers than the fubar'd hollywood-casting could ever produce. THIS Hermione could really become a beautiful butterfly by laying off her normal "unkempt" cocoon and playing dress-off for once in a while and surprise everybody.

I am supremely glad that you drew them very near how they were described in the books, rather than the hyper-idealized versions I see a lot of, or the ones that are based off of the actors instead.
And I love your use of color, and the shading on the faces is superb. You do things with colored pencils I can only dream of... T___T

I love the use of colors you chose for this!! May I ask if you drew these characters from your own imagination as J.K. Rowling described their physical characteristics in the books?? The reason I ask is because these characters don't really look anything like the characters in the movie's. In fact, your characters look a lot like how "I" imagined them in my own head when I first read the books!! Lol! Great job and I love the way you drew/colored "Crookshanks!" I'd love to see your interpretation of "Dobby," my favorite little creature!!
