"it is certain that they worshipped a sea-green stone idol chiselled in the likeness of Bokrug, the great water-lizard; before which they danced horribly when the moon was gibbous.
Another creature design thing. My take on Bokrug, from Lovecraft's "The Doom that Came to Sarnath."
Some kind of water lizard moon god from an ancient civilization of fish-people!

Why Bokrug? There are many gods and monsters in Cthulhu Mythos. Why this one? It is not much well known.

The design, style, and pose of the piece are excellent.
I can't find anything to fault- the details and everything just pull the piece together wonderfully.
...and did I mention that I happen to love Lovecraftian stuff? This is the best/only (*cough*) rendition of Bokrug I've ever seen; most people just go with Cthulhu and the Shoggoth.

Love how the idol looks very mysterious, alien, frightening yet captivating all in one go. It's gaze just seems to pierce right into anyone staring at it.

Yeah, it's not too often that you see Lovecraft's works anymore, but if you're interested, I highly recommend finding some sort of collection of his works! It's worth it!
