Description
The Ribbon tailed Maids or sometimes called Gown Tailed Maids, are believed to be some of the first of the Sirenia class to make contact with humans. The long flowing membranes that grow from their arms or torsos (depending on species) give these appendages a long flowing quality. Similar to that of flowing gowns.
There are 2 recorded species. The surface/midwater variant and the deep sea variant. The surface/midwater being the most prevalent and spotted.
The Deep Sea variant, depicted here, however is quiet elusive and rarely seen. These merfolk live their entire lives hidden in the deepest depths. The only recorded specimens have been those who perished in storms and washed up on beaches.
