Description Huixtocihuatl-Are large filter feeding as well as photosynthesising invertebrates. Considered the life giver to the oceans. Their microscopic offspring become an integral part of the food chain and ecosystem. Hermaphroditic a Huixtocihuatl is capable of impregnating as well as becoming pregnant. A unique adaptation is their survival mechanism. If a Huixtocihuatl becomes fatally sick or wounded while pregnant all secondary organs will shutdown allowing blood supply, oxygen etc to only nourish the organs needed for birthing. Once it is accomplished "she" will perish. Such an adaptation is because so few Huixtocihuatl reach adulthood most will become food to the other creatures of the ocean.

yeah life has a way of getting busy, i hate that,. dude your probly most talented i've seen yet, in the 'making creative organisms' field, which i keep separate from 'personification field' , which isnt creative. I'm trying to put together this "graphic novel" (which will be more like a science text book with a story) but i really need an artist to be partners with, and that has proven quite difficult to find.

WOW thank you, I truly appreciate that, yet I am sure you will probably find someone even better, But lets pretend I'm the most talented at the moment
I'm sure it has been difficult to find someone because I would guess most artists on DA are working on their own projects already or are just too busy to start anything at the moment. Yet Best of luck on your project and thank you for the kind words!

I love all the thought given to their internal anatomy. Believably intricate.

Thanks, I strive for some kind of accuracy when i design something, no matter how strange. So i'm glad it comes off as believable!

Wow. I love the basket-like structure at the mouth. I assume it's ciliated or something for filter feeding?
A really nice looking creature.
