I'm actually not quite myself. I know that the cartoon minimalist style originated in the 50s, with
its influence in styles seen in Hanna-Barbara, Toot Whistle Plunk and Boom/Sleeping Beauty, the
Mr. Men Show, etc.

The main character's a [really big jerk] and a dummy, but a crafty dummy. Doesn't help that he's
on them wrong side of the Mason-Dixon line, but I love the hell out of him and this stupid cartoon
style.
sigh. If only it just went a little bit further with it though...
AAAAAAND... the show Calvin and the Colonel (the cartoon link) was made in the 1960s, albeit
1961, the very edge of the 1950s practically.
But practically doesn't cut it. I lose by my own definition.
