yes, it is in the gallery. The house it totally surrounded by trees, so it cannot be seen at all in summer.

I'm working in a 108-year-old barn. It would be interesting to see this restored. Shame there's little interest in using old buildings.

I am always impressed when old buildings are used for a long time. Out in this area, there is an attitude that new is better, so many old buildings have been destroyed.

I find the history of this place amazing. What is eve more interesting.... I visited the daughter of the guy who built it and moved it here in 1903. She is 96 and I saw her last friday. Getting to her house wan an adventure itself, becasue the roads are so bad, but it was good to see her again and to bring her pictures of this house.

It's sad to see an old building fall to decay instead of being restored.

I tend to agree, yet I guess it is not possible to save all of them.

The slats of light make such an interesting composition. I've looked at this over and over, and despite the fact that it's fairly monochromatic, there's just so much going on. This is lovely.

thanks,
I tend to agree, it is an interesting building, especially if one considers that it is well over 100 years old, and was moved from the US to its present location in 1903.

lol,
I thought of that as I was taking it and even posting it. I really don't like horror though, but I thought the age and history kind of made up for it.

yes I realize that, but I would have thought that it would have been added by 1964 when the owner died. Still, its impossible to tell.

Time does leave its mark. When I was a kid in the early sixties I knew a place with a dirt floor but they were very rare by then.

I can remember a few out here even in the 70's, but these were being lived in by squatters, so they did not put much into shelter. I still wonder to this day how these folks lived in these log houses without electricity or gas, just a wood stove, in -40.
