how very beautiful, lovely work...

just yesterday i watched the BBC movie "deep blue" - it consists only of finest nature documentary captures with mainly orchestral music and very few spoken comments - i can highly recommend to watch it - why i tell you this, there was a wonderful scene with a "fetzenfisch" - fasinating and beautiful...

Those creatures are amazing indeed. I was thinking about drawing one too, someday.
...and thanks again, for all the comments.

cool, i think you have the skills and the love and patience to do it...

it was a pleasure to take a walk through your gallery, all your works shine out your careful ways - in my young days i used to draw a lot, but somehow i lost the patience underway - sometimes i see myself painting (which i never did so much) when i´ll be a really old man, haha...

keep up the good work...

These are amazing! Have you ever tried micro-pens? How do they compare to the dip pens? I am looking to branch out into something that has more control than the micro-pens.

Thanks!
Yes, I tried micro pens and they have way more control than dip pens (no smudges, stains, blops...). But at the same time dip pens make more attractive lines, not so technical and you can choose the ink to use. I'm not an expert to be honest, dip pens just have this special feeling to me while drawing, you know...
So, if you want something 'safe' then go with regular pens. But I recommend trying different things!

Great advice! I will check into dip pens and maybe try a combination of both. Thanks!

You're welcome

I once did a short comic where one of the pages used dot techniques similar to this. No where near as detailed, however haha shenaniboom.deviantart.com/art… My wrist hurt afterward after working on that so I commend you on the effort it must've taken!

I see. It looks good anyway! Maybe you pushed pen too strong, or maybe you've spend too much time at one sitting. For this artwork of mine, I tried dotting for an hour and then have a break an start dotting later  or in another day. It helps me avoid getting bored, but it needs much more time to finish a drawing.

Yeah, I pretty much did it in one sitting, except for that one time I stopped to eat dinner, if I remmember correctly.

Exquisite! IMHO, don't color it. there is so much fine detail to enjoy in the black and white version that I feel color would distract from that.
