Nei, I try to live by the same dogma. Always try to give, always try to help my fellow man. Maybe it's selfish because I feel good about myself, but I believe it's the right thing to do.
It's not easy, I know. There are a lot of obstacles and mean people that like to take advantage of this and it pulls you down, and you end up thinking that it's for nothing.
And suddenly you come along and post this... and let us know that we are not alone, that there are good spirits out there sharing the road. Thank you for rekindling that flame.

I wanted to come back and expand on my previous entry.
Please don't think me weird or pervy. I called my ex girlfriend "kitten"... it happens to be a nickname I like a lot for a girl. From the beginning my main interest in you, however, has been in the development of your art. I have watched the growth of several up and coming talents since joining here. You became one of them. It is something I enjoy.
In your case, you yourself expanded my interests by posting occasionally about your life, or your hopes and dreams. Such as the post above. I am not faulting you for that. Merely explaining why my interest in you as a person has grown over the years. It is hard to avoid such things, when we all live a part of our lives online now. You are a very interesting girl, Nei. Intelligent, talented, dedicated. Self reliant. I think it would be a gift to know you in real life.
Not that I feel that would ever happen. If you saw me, walking with my wife, you would see us as coming from two utterly different worlds. Such may be the case, but I think you would also be astounded to know how much we bear in common. Like yourself, I was very independent as a younger man. I dressed as I wished. I pursued a career in art when my whole family told me not to. As a result, I enjoyed a pampered career none of them could believe I had achieved by "drawing cartoons".... I have played heavy rhythm guitar and sung in rock and metal bands my whole life.... most of which my friends and family considered me to be outside the norm, culturally speaking.
People are more tolerant these days. I think you look lovely... with your purple hair and Mad Max boots. In my day it was long, long hair, skin tight jeans, black tees and leather jackets with lots of polished zippers and chains. Now I am fat, have grey hair, and walk with a cane...lol! A far cry form my hard rocker days...
Anyhow, I'm probably no different in most ways from your typical fans. I love your art. I find your personality both endearing and captivating. I applaud every success and achievement. With your kind indulgence I will remain a fan... I shall continue to make a brief comment here or there.
And I really would like to know how you got that name...

Where did you get the name Toolkitten? I can think of associations based on how you do your color work, but i am still curious, I admit.

Its tool as in something you use to do something else. Part of it was because I like to tinker also, and besides an artist I originally wanted to be a mechanical engineer or something like that. Now its expanding more into other branches like fashion
