How nice that your friends took compassion on this beautiful cat and gave her a second chance at life. Her coloring looks like she could be part Siamese.

We inherited a disabled kitten many years ago when we opened our front door and found a tiny, totally black kitten sitting on the open, snow covered porch. Thinking he was somehow left there by mistake, we took him back to the barn and placed him with his Mom and brothers and sisters. But it was only a short time later that we found him back on the porch again. I guess the Mother cat somehow knew that he was disabled and that she couldn't take care of him, and also that we couldn't turn away such a tiny thing, even though we didn't have any other inside house cats . It turned out that he had a balance problem that made it impossible for him to walk normally (actually he kind of staggered two steps forward and then two steps sideways), and which also made it a bit of a mess for him to eat and drink from pans and use his box without falling into or out of one or the other , but he was a sweet kitty and grew into a gentle and loving cat.

Oh... this is a very positive story, Marylin
I looked for Your eMail, to send You an "asking mail" (I can't fimd the "send a note " option) It's about horses killed in Australia. We are not good enough in English to write sth, and they plan to kill much more horses.:

I was ill for several weeks, so I apologize for this late response. It is very sad how the wild horses are being treated in Australia. Sadly, they don't always receive much better treatment in the United States, although efforts at least are made by many people to find adoption homes for many of our mustangs.

Our old mare that we board out now with some very nice people has an older mustang for company, and one of our friends has adopted more than one and also spends time in a Save the Mustangs group that works on setting up watering holes for a bunch of wild horses that still roam in an area not far from where we live. When the horses compete for forage with the naturally wild animals as well as with the cattle that are turned out on the land to graze during the summer, they anger a lot of people who feel they shouldn't be competing for the available food supply. It's a real problem for the individuals and agencies who have to manage the public lands to make all groups happy.

Here are some links to organizations in the USA that are trying to save our wild horses:

Save the Mustangs Foundation - [link]
U.S. Dept of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management - [link]
Colorado Dept of Corrections Inmate Program - [link] (click on Wild Horse Program link on left) - Prisoners in Colorado train wild horses to make them more adoptable. It's a Win-Win situation for both the inmates and the horses.
Save the Mustangs Video - [link]
And although this link is not a video about wild horses specifically, it shows why so many of us feel that horses are one of the most wonderful creatures on earth and that they deserve to be preserved and defended. What a sad world it would be without their presence - [link]

Yes, she is unusual, because of her handicap, but we think what is really unusual with her is her will of life and the joy and couriosity she got (even this is unseen at the photo )

What handicap does she have, cause she looks perfectly normal to me? I was referring to her fur when I said that, cause I never saw any other cat with stripes only on her bottom half! Anyway, it's yours and you love her, and that's what matters most!

Elisia is our Friends cat. She was to be euthanasied after falling from the 5th floor. I wrote about her handicap in the comments. Thank You a lot

Yes. They save abused animals, especially horses. Elisia is among many other cats and seem to feel very comfortable there.
