NOTE TO CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTERS:
There isn't much intricacy in this design, but I'd still like to know how generally appealing this design looks. I didn't want to concentrate too much on anatomical accuracy, because I thought if the comb ended on the beak (like a real chicken), then the eye wouldn't be visible which would give a much different look. Should I have drawn the full body of the chicken, or is the head adequate or even better? Is the "derpiness" of the chicken fitting? Do you find the low complexity of the form and shading appealing?

If chickens are the modern T-Rex, then KFC should be renamed to KFTR.

I'd say much, much more than that--probably at least 100! Speaking of cost, it's probably going to be more expensive than salmon! o-o
The only things I like from KFC are their coleslaws and potato wedges. Their other items either feel too oily or fake.

I’ve only tried combining the MP with gravy, but I’ll keep that combo in mind the next time I happen to get their mac. That sounds like a great combo! It’s basically like potato cheese bread. Why haven’t I thought if that before?

I love this peice. It's virtually perfect. A decent piece for what it is supposed to be. One thing I believe could be changed is the lines are a bit squiggly, and could be steadier. There are stabilizers built into most programs, if you didn't already know.

Thank you for the short critique! I do use a stabilizer, but my lines can still get a bit squiggly even at the level I’m most comfortable with. I’m not used to seeing my “ink” set late on the screen as my pen is making its trail.

Hiya ^^, Im from project comment and this caught my eye, a very simple and fitting piece that simply has a broad and ironic message to it is very good ^^, the shading is all alright, however could be improved by shading with non grey scale colours such as a low saturated red to give it a warm and more vibrant theme, I would say the design does look better with just the head as a piece like this does not need to be complicated and the simplicity of the chicken head opposes the idea of it being a t-rex, the shading could be a little bit more varied and cover more area to give a more eye catching effect and the derpiness looks cute on it ^^, maybe a few more eye highlights cold do the trick, for the bakground I would say adding a it more could bring more effect round it, like putting a white thick line art underneath it, the background colour of yellow is to me the best choice and is nicely and effectively simple, great work ^^

I did want to keep everything in the design simple, including the shading and lighting, but I do understand your view on a more refined shading/lighting job. And I do see your point on a making a more effective background, which I wasn't really considering given that this thumbnail simply serves as a way to display my t-shirt, pillow, sticker, etc design--which don't require a background. But I'll still give thought into your advice when posting my next merch design as a deviation. ^^

Well, if you are giving guidelines for the constructive commenters that is very helpful, because otherwise I would not have much to say regarding the design.
I think the simplicity contributes well to the image, because this could be a T-shirt design or something, which are usually cartoony like this. Also, the stylization and the “derpiness” is only appropriate considering the slogan is grammatically incorrect, so it works better this way. And I think that having just the head works, because the full body would have made the expression too small and hard to notice. However, I am not quite sure if the eye highlights are in the correct place, and the watermark is in a distracting position (but that can’t be helped).
Don’t worry about the comb, though. Most people would not notice it’s wrong. I certainly didn’t.
The “I am T. rex” line really seals it. Something as cute as the chicken is trying to seem tougher by saying that, making it seem more adorable. And all birds are the closest living relatives of Tyrannosaurus, so it’s fitting. Now I’m imagining a T. rex with white feathers and comb like those of a chicken. It wouldn’t make it any less scary.

Thank you for the comment! I do think simplicity works better for any design meant to be a T-shirt, much like the message in a roadside billboard ad. I was aware of the incorrect placement of the highlights. This was actually done to make the eyes appear like they are “facing” opposite directions, “derping” in other words.

First of all, I like the yellow background in contrast to the colors of the chicken. That gives it a nice barnyard feel. Since you said constructive criticism was okay though, I do think I know how this joke could work better. I think the chicken should be standing next to something taller than itself, that way the intimidation factor is not so much threatening as ridiculous. There’s nothing wrong with a simple design though, so long as it’s funny
