Arts and crafts? How about the dark arts and witchcraft? Talk about useful and whimsy, fit for an endearing and innocent-looking lil’ fox witch! 🔮✨
NOTE TO CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTERS:
For this, I'd like you to focus more on the visual appeal than realism. For instance, you can see that the fox's ears are anatomically incorrect. This was primarily done through personal preference of not blocking the hat and showing more of the fox's face. And doesn't the fox look much cuter this way? Of course, feel free to disagree with that and state how I can make the fox appear more endearing. Would blush marks work well? Would the work be better without the "ghost?"

Honestly this is adorable. There are elements that may help maximize appeal though. For instance I might have the fur tufts on the side of the face appear more three dimensional. Shade them so they appear to point towards the camera, right now they look a little off. To maximize "cuteness"- can you give him fox mittens that show his paws? As to the ears, I think they would look better on the sides of the head and really I don't see how they would block the face, maybe take some inspiration from another fox character-

Another thing you could consider is having the fox reacting to the ghost, as it is, I'm not sure he's even acknowledging the ghost is there at all. He could either be giving us a knowing evil giggle, or maybe jumping away in fear, or maybe he's even trying to swipe at it.
In all honesty, I do think the ears need to be more "anatomically correct". I'm aware of how Walt made Mickey, but I find that design kind of creepy to be honest (Micky, not your fox). I think the fox can be just fine with more correct ears and yes the are rather distracting- again, inspiration from robin-hood-

I DO like the over sized tailand the clothing choices. Also the large eyes to small mouth certainly do follow the Japanese "cute" ideals like in Moie (I guess that's how it's spelled).

Those are wonderful suggestions! Fyr would definitely look cuter with more definition on his cheek tufts, and I kinda had a little trouble implementing that with the flat style I was going for—but I bet some light shading would work better than dark and bold definition with lines. I’ve been drawing Fyr more and now often now, so I’ll definitely consider repositioning his ears like you suggested.
I was going for a message that Fyr was too absorbed in his sinister concoction that he didn’t mind the ghost—but now that you’ve mentioned him reacting to it, that gave me the idea of creating a little animation of this scenario! I’m also really glad you acknowledged Fyr’s cuteness as Japanese-like and admired his super fluffy tail!

It is a classic name for magicians,
yet somehow has a foxish vibe to it.
Personally, when I name my characters,
I think about if the sound fits them.
For example, I have two Raichu characters
who I called Matt and Eirika.
These names are supposed to both reflect
the crackling electricity their species entails
with the hard sounds of the "tt" and "rika",
as well as their soft and cuddly outward
appearance with the "M" and "Ei".

Ah, I see~! Yeah, I do consider the characteristics of my unnamed characters into the naming equation. Emera (my newest character) and the fox are, I believe, my first OCs ever--so I do need to develop a knack for creating characters especially with their names. Thanks for the explanation!

This piece is an uwu. Chibi fox in witches' robes, a scarf and an ominous caudron literally as big as them? Yes please! Also helps that I'm on a Harry Potter kick right now.
I love your colour palette (purbleeeee and lime) and liberal use of sparkles.
I think that maybe you could have given the scarf more volume by making it a bit thicker and curving the yellow stripes more along the contour of the scarf. And maybe you add sparkles to around the ghost instead of just in the cauldron. But I'm biased and probably like sparkles a little too much, so feel free to disagree
However, I can say that you definitely succeeded in making a cute witchy fox

First of all, I'd like to say that your art work is very cute! The art style is simple and attractive which makes it very pleasant to look at. This art work would look good as a sticker in my own opinion. I really like the effects on the grey witch cauldron where it shows the smoke and glowing effect. This makes your art piece more pleasant to look at. The fox looks so adorable due to your art style and the eyes as the eyes have the white sparkle in them. It really makes the fox cute. The expression of the fox also contributes to the cuteness of it. Great job on that!
A fox wearing a witch cape and hat is really a good idea as it makes the fox cuter. The tail looks so fluffy that I wanna squish it and pet the fox. The fox is just so cute!
Now for my nitpicks. Personally I believe that your piece could be better if you used pastel colors instead of solid ones. Your lines could be more solid and smoother which I believe will increase the cuteness of the whole piece. The lines could be colored too which will increase the aesthetic of the art piece and make it more visually pleasing.
But great work overall! I really like it. I hope you keep making more. I bet you'll be able to make better art pieces in the future.
