Yes, the original photo was a lot brighter (although I didn't darken my version as much as my niece did hers; we chose a bit different emotional interpretations of it). Well, I am jealous too - of my niece's ability to come up with great poses in a very spontaneous, sincere, and graceful manner. It's like she's dancing with the surroundings. I regret a bit now that I didn't (and don't yet) have a real camera for capturing such moments (I guess I have to start thinking about getting a new one!).

Well, I'm planning to buy it when my time becomes a bit more relaxed. Possibly during writing my thesis next year, or perhaps if I'm done with all the exams. I do regret a bit that I didn't have one with me this summer, because I've visited some new nice places - and even though I did shoot with my phone, it still feels like a missed opportunity.

Well, what happened to your old camera, though? A photographer without it can't do much, I fear. Although phone cameras can be very good these days.
