Engulfed in shadows, the room was deathly quiet. Sound…hardly penetrated through the pitch black darkness.

Occasionally, a hot summer breeze would pass by the open window and if it was strong enough, lift the heavy curtains surrounding the bed.

Swish and sway, the curtains would play with the wayward wind, filling the silent room with the sound of rustling fabric. Within seconds, the wind died down and the whispering draperies slowly fell back into silence. In the brief moments just before the thick, heavy curtains would settle around the canopy again, quiet and barely audible sounds could be heard coming from the bed within.

Soft murmurs of soothing words caressed the air between the fabrics; breathless sighs and moans drifted out into the night. As the curtains fell into place, the room plunged back into silence.

Bereft of sound and light, Yao had no need for his eyes or ears. In this moment, at this time, the sense of taste and touch was all he needed. With his hand as his guide, he lowered his head...

Sweet.

The word flashed in his mind over and over again as his tongue lapped up the dense, thick honey. Gradually, it dissolved in his mouth and turned into a light, syrupy liquid. He swallowed, a bitter aftertaste left in his mouth.

Yao, eager to rid himself of the sweet bitterness, bent his head again to kiss away the remaining honey.

A giggle, a laugh, and then a shifting body.

"Jao," a voice called out to him softly.

The Chinese man ignored him. Mixing with his lover's sweat, the honey was melting and dripping onto the bed sheets. If he wasn't quick enough, by tomorrow morning it would be a complete mess.

Yao moved higher to follow the sugary trail. The taste of the other's salty sweat captivated him, making him vigorous in licking and nipping the other clean. Skin and body clung to one another, sticky and dirty as they were from the honey.

He took hold of the other's nape and sucked hard, swallowing every last bit of sugar he could find.

"Jao…."

Honey trickled down the corner of his mouth as he gazed down at the dark outline of his lover. Without sight and without words, Yao felt a teasing wet tongue lick away the amber liquid.

He turned his head and caught those smiling lips with his. With a slight nudge, a little encouragement, the calm kiss dissolved into a silent call of wants. Sugar permeated through him; the taste of honey on the tip of his tongue and carried on into their kiss.

It was funny, Yao thought in the back of his mind. He hated sweet things. Never really could stand them. Yet, here he was, seeking after that deceptively sweet mouth and unable to tear away.

Sweet. His lover was mind numbingly sweet.

Deepening the kiss, Yao didn't care about why Ivan was the exception to the rule.
