Description
We held our paws,
I looked into your eyes.
I wish time would pause,
But it's all a lie.
~~~~~
"Rai, come out and have breakfast now!" I woke up to my mum's voice downstairs, lying on my bed and staring at the spinning fan. Slowly standing up, I looked into the mirror that was just beside my bed. The corner of my eyes are all red, along with signs of tears streaking down my face the night before.
I sighed. I'm never gonna go back to that place again, am I?
~~~~~
"I-Ignis, are you ready?" I asked her, unconfirmed of my own decision. I held onto the Thunderstone in front of me, ready to evolve. "I-I dunno what evolution will be like, s-so just stay away for a little bit..."
"Don't worry, Raiken." She patted my head, chuckling. "I'm sure you'll be fine."
"Alright, then here I go..."
~~~~~
"Rai, how long do you need to get down here and have breakfast!?" She just flat out yelled at me as soon as I stepped into the kitchen. "It's been 3 days. 3 days! What happened to you!? You're usually a cheerful person!" She held me and looked up to me since I was taller.
Closing my eyes, I decided to avoid eye contact with her, not willing to tell her anything.
"No... it's nothing." I said plainly, reopening my eyes but directing them at a different angle so that I still can't see her brown eyes. "You don't understand."
"And why wouldn't I? How many years have I known you, Rai!? Even before you were born!" She spat. "Now tell me one thing that I don't understand about you!"
"Even if you'd known me for another hundred years, you wouldn't have fully understood me."
"Then tell me! What am I misunderstanding!?" Tears finally began their journey down her cheeks. "You've changed since the day you've recovered from that incident! What happened!?"
"..." I stayed silent. "Nothing happened." ...Did nothing really happened? I... don't know... anymore. "I'm...gonna take a walk. I need to clear my mind."
She still looked at me, unwilling to let me go, so I had to let them off me myself. "...Fine." Was the only word she said before turning back and continuing whatever she was doing at that time, since my mind was too clouded to bother what she was doing anyway.
~~~~~
"A-Are we done yet...?" I said, feeling that stone in my paws gone.
"Yuuup~" I hear her say gleefully. "You're a cute little Jolteon now~!"
"Sh-Shut u-" I opened my eyes to take a look at my new body, but it was a little more surprised than happy. "W-Why are my fur so long!?"
"Hehe, I did say that you're a cute little Jolteon, didn't I?" She teased, caressing my cheeks and giving it a little kiss. I just flushed red and stoned there, not knowing what to do. "You're just too cute, that's undeniable, hehe."
"I-I said shut up!" I gently pushed her away since my face is already red as a Tamato. "G-Get off me!"
"Nnnnnope~" She nuzzled and purred, giggling. "Fluffy Jolteon is fluffy~"
"I-Ignis~!"
~~~~~
I let myself drift back into reality as I recounted the facts.
The last thing I remember after I first woke up in a hospital...
~~~~~
"We've done our best. The rest will depend on his consciousness, whether he chooses to wake up or continue to be in a coma." I hear someone state. "You can talk to him now, and he may hear your words, depending also on his consciousness as well."
"Thank you, doctor." Another replied.
"It's the most I can do." He sighed. "Let's just hope he has the conscience to wake up."
~~~~~
I turned into a Pokemon while I was in a coma, and that means everything I've experienced while I was unconscious... isn't real?
No...how can't it be real...we went through so much together...pain, happiness, they were all so real...
I reached the park. Not many people were there, except for some children playing around and a few couples enjoying the autumn breeze. It's autumn already...and to think that I fell into a coma during winter. It's been almost a year since I've been with Ignis? Time sure pass quick. All those guild work, all those fun times and hard times, we should have cherished them, knowing one day I had to return to where I belong.
Tears had began seeping through my eyes, down a line. Ugh, I really wish that sometimes I wasn't a sentimental person. I didn't want to cry, but I made no effort of wiping the tears off either. Let them dry and I'll be on my way, I guess.
"Here." I see a hand extend towards me, holding a tissue. "Wipe off your tears."
"...?" I trailed the hand and looked at her. It was a girl standing in front of me. She had long, red hair and crimson eyes, and was fairly tall.
I instinctively took over the tissue and wiped away my tears and smiled, muttering a soft 'thank you' in response.
Maybe it's just me, but for some reason she seemed so familiar, so familiar that I couldn't get my hands on what is it about her that made me felt this.
"Why are you crying?" She sat down beside me and asked. "You seem very upset. What's the matter?"
"I-It's...ahh, complicated..." No, I don't think I should say anything about the things I've been through. She'll probably think I'm crazy, and I don't want that as my first imptession to her. "I-I don't really know what happened...b-but, my best friend just suddenly went away from me... and I feel very sad because I couldn't find a way to contact her anymore..."
"I see..." She patted my back as a way to cheer me up, still smiling. "Well, why don't you just say it out? I'm sure she'll receive the message."
"Really? Does it work that way?" I rose an eyebrow at her words, somewhat in disbelief.
"If you really wish," She said in a soothing voice, calming me down as I finally gave her a small smile. "She'll know it."
I took a deep breath and started talking, trying my hardest not to cry at the same time.
"Ignis," I began, looking up into the clear blue sky. "I don't know if you can hear this, but know that I'm sorry for my sudden departure."
"I know, it may be too much to take, but we all know that this is going to happen sooner or later. You gotta be strong when I'm gone, and I don't know if I could ever return to that place again. I really miss you, Ignis, but you must live on without me. Promise me and don't go doing anything stupid, will you?"
I placed my left paw, err...hand, clenching it into a fist and only extending my thumb, index finger and middle finger, on my forehead. This was our signature when we head out for a dungeon mission, and we would always do this on our rendezvous point: the wishing well.
"Never left without saying goodbye. Never die without at least a try."
"Rai...?" She suddenly spoke.
"!?" I looked at her in disbelief. There's no way she could've known my name, unless... she knew me? Who is she?
"Sorry, I gotta go." I saw her hastily stood up, bowed at me and went away.
"Wait!" I called out to her, but it was too late. She already disappeared out of my line of sight. "You haven't told me your name..."
~~~~~
"Rai?"
The familiar voice came from the kitchen as it heard me opening the door, sounding my return.
"I'm back!" I said, somewhat loudly to prevent her from thinking I'm still down.
"Welcome home. Feeling better?" The voice continued to ask.
"Yeah. I think." Still couldn't confirm myself, so I thought I'd just tell the truth.
"Alright, I believe you." Thankfully, she said what I wanted her to say, but she also said something else. "Your school is going to start next week, so I guess you better study hard for the entrance exam! You've missed quite the lessons in schopl,given your condition, and it's time to buck up!"
"Yeah I know, mum." I ultimately sighed, accepting defeat. "I'll head back to my room."
"Don't force yourself, alright?"
"Will do."
~~~~~
I feel that I should introduce myself a little more, with the stories ahead that I want to tell you.
My name is Raiken. 雷剣・剣心(Raiken Kenshin) is my full name. I am currently 14, but I am turning 15 this winter. As you may know, I was turned into a Pokemon when I was in a coma. Absolutely nobody believed me when I first told this to everyone.They just thought I had a crazy dream.
Yeah, they did. I couldn't even explain anything. They just straight out denied my explanation.
Back to the introduction.
I am, of course, a Pokemon trainer, a rookie one, in fact. I'm still trying to juggle between time for my Pokemon and time for my studies, because my graduating exams are nearing and after that I might be able to venture around Unova, or maybe even crossing to other regions.
I currently have a Jolteon and a Riolu, named Kaminari and Akatsuki respectively. They are quite the pair, because I've seen them get together quite well. When I took them over to Nurse Joy, she said that both of them were very affectionate towards each other, even though both of them are male. She laughed a little and said that although this wasn't uncommon, the Jolteon does have a build leaning towards the feminine side of his species, with long fur and long fringes. I smiled and retrieved them back shortly after, thanking her for taking care of my Pokemon as usual and went on my way.
Now that I think of it, Kaminari does look very feminine, and even behaves like one, could it be that he is actually a girl? But if that was the case, then how would they determine if the Pokemon was male or female in the first place?
I basically shrugged it off as too complicated stuff for me to understand at that point. They probably have some machines that can determine the gender of a Pokemon, maybe the Pokedex records the gender of the Pokemon whenever you encounter or capture it? Or maybe...N-Nevermind.
Argh, I keep trailing off when I want to tell a story. It happens way too often when it comes to a person like me, because I get distracted by way too many things. Well, probably also because there's too many things to tell you at the moment, I can't sort the information out good enough.
Well, I guess I'll leave it up to you to decide what you want to hear.
