I suppose it's obvious I've been reading Orwell's 1984, but that itself has been an aid to this idea, that I have been having brewing in my head for a while.

If you don't know what doublethink is, read 1984. In fact, read 1984 period. Its a good novel!

Anyways, I went for a really speed-painting like look for the hand/arm, something un-smoothed to contrast with the smooth background. Color choices were selected for a good contrast, but also symbolical meaning. The greens - which are dull and almost even depressing - represent the oppression of tyranny; the reds represent Power and how they dominate (a strong red versus a more neutral green).
