Throughout his life, Vidal has lived as a survivalist both before and after his birthpack’s inevitable termination; living on his journey carrying its memory and practicing its traditions to this day. His teachings by his parents were passed down onto their heir in preparation to take his father’s place as Jarl — a day that never came — and its factors were such as: Fjall’s nomadic customs and religion, leadership, honesty, survival and above all: the importance of family… Something he no longer has but intends to find someday. However, it is rather complicated now due to once living in a close-knit pack that were almost always hostile to any and all outsiders, to now being an outsider himself. He has a hard time trusting strangers given his traumatic experience — and like most — protects himself by being cold and threatening, though given the opportunity of time to see character and intent, Vidal is liable to eventually ease up and show a completely different side of him; his authentic self. This is all except the likes of The Empire, of course.

Though despite the outcome to the start of his young adulthood, while he may have grown in hardship, his true nature has not changed by much. Typically, Vidal has been known to be a charismatic, ambitious and wilful wolf, a troublemaker at heart but overall sincere and honest as firmly taught by his former life. It is without a doubt that his bold, assertive and often impetuous disposition is likely to get him into a heep of consequences — as well as his skilful act in deceitfulness and devious — that is if he is not seeking it out purposefully. Vidal enjoys the thrill of being intrepid, and if it is not by entertainment then it is by the sheer need of gaining what he needs in the means to survive. After all, when you do not have authority anymore and now live as your own accord, who is there to stop you?

But while he is serene in an essence, he is not one to be underestimated when it comes to his temperament. Generally, he is thick-skinned and light-hearted to insult and ignorant to seriousness, there are certain topics that are prone to trigger him into a belligerent reaction. It is his way to hinder his emotions, something he believes is a sign of weakness and vulnerability, frequently avoiding sensitive topics that upset or anger him for the benefit of others and himself alongside his security; self-conscious that others may deceive him if he opens up. With all this included, it is a tendency for Vidal to push others away out of fear that in some way they may be taken from him or driven away in the end, being purposeful in being suddenly distant or cold to savour the trouble of waiting for the day to come. Without knowing much himself, Vidal is a hateful hypocrite towards The Empire for what they have caused him and made him into, but in fact, they are not much different from his nomadic, forbidding birthpack and all that he has learnt from their traditions.

At the end of it, what drives this wolf is his ambition to continue on his family legacy and someday fulfilling his father’s desire for him to become a leader, one way or another. While he may be quite an intractable character, there is still a potential to be seen in him in his unconscious ways of quick-thinking and leaderly mannerism; his strong principle to be dutiful, loyal and valiant. In a better and possible future light, Vidal is deep down an considerate, honest and selfless wolf, but desperate times calls for desperate measures and it is for him to discover as he learns new experiences and meets others along his path. This journey is not only a one of finding a new life, but a discovery into who he is truly meant to become.

PRE-BIRTH HISTORY :
A single generation back in time, Fjall was nothing more than a band of five brothers, carrying on what they believed to soon be a dying legacy of their rich, nomadic history and religion. They ruled the northern coastlines, exceptional in their skills in tackling the chaotic waves, hunting from land, sky and sea to raiding anyone and everyone who stood between their desperate need to survive. The tribe were known to be barbarians among the common lands, but their ways were never with cruel intent, only the means to survive and revive their heritage; and that was soon all to change.

It was a white-out, a thick fog of a blizzard. The brothers were travelling closely together, seeking shelter from the great storm that clouded their vision and senses, the notion of death creeping into their discouraged minds. This was it, this was the end of Fjall, so they thought. As they moved their way into the woodlands to be shielded by the mass of trees, one of the brothers spotted the faint sight of another group of wolves heading towards their direction. Instinctively, each of them put up their guard and were ready to stand their ground if it meant a fight over the protection from the forest, but it was one wolf by the name that Rinar – the heir of Fjall – that put a stop to their usual, hostile ways. These weren't just any wolves… they were silver.

The brothers dropped to the ground in a solemn bow to the group of strangers who were already gazing at each other in confusion. To them, the sight of silver or golden wolves was the sign of a promising omen; their potential savour. Unsurprisingly, Rinar was captivated by one particular wolf within their family, her beauty and grace enthralling him; her name was Leita, the future Visi of Fjall.

Hastily, the two groups banded together to find shelter and after coming across an old, abandoned cave they conversed with each other and learnt about their cultures and journeys. The silver wolves were becoming fewer, the polar regions becoming more deadly by the year as prey became scarse and the weather all the more fatal. Ultimately, they came to a willing agreement to form an alliance and for the silver strangers to join Fjall on their path to find their own home. And so… they did just that.

A year had passed since the omen and life was starting to look up for Fjall. Most of the wolves joined together as mates and this included Rinar and Leita, who were wedded and already expecting pups of their own. With each day, the pack travelled on from coast to coast, carrying on their traditions in raiding and hunting to support their growing family. But by the time the Eir of Fjall was about to give birth to her own, the pack decided to settle in one particular coast that they soon made their new territory and home.

HISTORY :
— Birth
On one winter's night, two sons were born: Vidal and Fiske. The new parents kept them close and dear, shielded from the outside world until they were old enough to begin learning about the ways of their tribe and its sacred religion. The first born was a rambunctious child and first in-line as heir to his father while the second was more of a composed character, and who seemed the better fitting for the role at the time by most. Nevertheless, Vidal was still very much keen to the idea of someday becoming Jarl and it set him in his path, ambitious and keen to learn everything about Fjall as well as its history; Fiske contently followed in suit.

— One Year
The brothers grew into their early juvenile and were already starting to settle into their nomadic lifestyles, keeping closely tethered to their parents as they taught them everything as one should alongside their own tribe's expertise that had been passed down for generations.

On one particular day, Vidal and Fiske had been out to practice and learn the land they had settled upon, only to discover a lone she-wolf in the wilderness; starved and brittle. The heir stood his ground, firmly standing by the notion he had been taught to protect his family and drive away anyone who ventured near their home, but it was Fiske that showed her remorse, heeding her story when he asked. Vidal did not understand why his brother was so willing to put his trust in this stranger, but after taking the outsider back to their home and reporting back to their Jarl her story, Rinar offered the youngster the option to leave or stay. Othila chose the latter, and over time, Vidal's intense curiosity about the newcomer ended up becoming the start of a close-knitted friendship.

Life seemed to be flourishing for the tribe and Vidal was promptly learning in his youth what is to be expected as a Jarl, his experience growing in practice as well as his exceptional skills in hunting, swimming and running. But there was still much more to be taught, especially when it came to the state of affairs that were rising in Fjall at their borders.

— Two to three years
A few more years passed and the Jarl was starting to notice more outsiders lurking their borders. They were presumed were nothing more than a band of rogues at the start, but they were soon to be discovered as a renown pack named The Empire. The tribe were eventually threatened by a troop of wolves that frequently loomed by, proclaiming that they were trespassing and abusing the land that was owned by their people and if they did not leave now then they would suffer the dire consequences of their wrath. But the Jarl and the rest of Fjall were unmoved by their warnings, firmly standing the ground they had made their rightful home. Why should they move? They there were no marks to say that it belonged to someone before them, nothing at all.

The wolves were driven off of their land by their tribe's strongest, leaving Fjall to return to its tranquility by the coastlines. But Rinar was ignorant to believe that there was truly another pack so close by – he would have noticed – and believed it was not anything but lies and empty threats, exaggerations to scare them away. The Jarl had profoundly underestimated the sheer severity of what it truly meant… up until it would all be too late.

It was twilight and a few days had past since their encounter with the rogues. There had been only but silence since then and Fjall had carried on their lives as normal, providing for their community and keeping watch over their home. But it did not matter how prepared the tribe were for anymore outsiders trespassing their home, there was not a single pack on earth that could withstand the fury of The Empire. No saw it coming. All was calm and peaceful as the tribe were settling in the open fields for the night, families nestling closely together ready for slumber, and then, everything sharply took a turn for the worst. The sounds of a rumble was heading their way and the tribe awoke to find a stampede of savage wolves heading their way, sending them into a frenzy as the resilient stepped forward to meet them in battle while the vulnerable retreated back. Fjall did not back down and put up a great fight but ultimately, the odds were against them.

During this time, Vidal and Othila had unfortunately been out on a late hunt together, unaware of the chaos that was unfolding from afar only until they returned. On the edges of the forest that lead into the vast fields above the coast, the pair came to the horrific sight of bodies of all ages spread across the now-bloodied grassland. But there was a commotion a distance away and the heir spotted his father, mother and a small group of survivors left being driven slowly to the cliff edges by the troop of unfamiliar, forbidding wolves. They were frozen with fear and at the very moment that they saw their family be at the brink of the cliff, his tearful mother had spotted her son and no matter the distance, it was as if Vidal could read everything: to run.

And so they did, a few of the wolves noticing this look only to make haste after whoever was left surviving. For as long as they could in their panic, Vidal and Othila kept close together as they rushed through the forests, dipping and diving to divert their attackers pursuit. But their escape was aimless, pushing past the familiar boundaries that had been shown into unknown territory, and in the end, Vidal was separated after falling down into a ravine filled with murky water that he then rapidly used to cover his scent; hiding underneath the ridge until it was safe. The last wolf known to him was gone.

As soon as the night became still again, the heir made haste into the wilderness and travelled south, far away from the northern coastlines, his instinctive survivalistic lifestyle kicking in as well as the ever-looming fear driving him as far as his tiresome body could take him. From then on, Vidal travelled alone, following the coastlines though he strayed far from any sign of other wolves. Everything he had ever known was now gone, taken and butchered by an uncommon but newfound enemy, but the heir of Fjall vowed to himself that he would not give up on their legacy just as his father did not; and he believed that this is what his father would have wanted for his son too. Now, it was a new beginning for the heir to become a true nomad and let his paws mark his path, the opportunities limitless and a chance to find a new belonging… if not by land, then by another.
