Description A now much older Grumle has to walk far from his treehouse to deal with this swamp creature who is devouring the forest. 
For each year that pass he is unknowingly turning back into Mossmurkel, the forest god he once was.

I like the concept of life and death in this picture. Everything behind the swamp creature is dead and dark while the ground, air, and everything around Mossmurkel is alive and growing.


I suppose he's a bit like the Forest Spirit in Princess Mononoke who had things growing around his feet wherever he stepped.
