Description Do you hear them? See them?

Maybe...

They hear and see you. Every single one.

Street musicians are everywhere in Brisbane. Every little corner you could easily find a man or woman, girl or boy, larger group of people or a duet. Or just a soloist.

Sometimes they get massive crowds. Other times... they sit like this guy.

this is excellent.
what a wonderful capture.
i like the angle it was taken from; you can see all the way down the street.

this is a very interesting photograph.
obviously the musical inspiration seems to be inspired from inside the musician rather than gathering a huge crowd.
..hopefully he's just chillin' out and enjoying hearing his guitar.. rather than playing out depressed emotions.
I think in some ways... this photo has opened up my eyes to what's always been obvious,
when it comes down it,
we're all alone.

I love this shot, it reminds me of State street down where I live. There are so many people out there strumming their guitars to earn some cash and most of them have a smile on their face despite anything they may be facing. Excellent capture, and superb lighting, almost a spotlight around the subject. I like how the guitar seems to glow as if shining it's significance to his life, the thing that gets him by day after day.

TimBurtonAddict mentioned giving contracts to the homeless, that's actually happened in my town. A black homeless man used to stand out in front of one of our movie theatres and play guitar while improving lyrics about the people who walked past him. He was very good and ended up landing a recording contract. He made a CD or two but died pretty young, I think in his 60's. He was always a light to brighten up the street and it was fun to walk past him to see what he'd say about you.

I see a lot of street musicians downtown in Victoria...I think somebody should start a record company that goes around giving recording contracts to talented street musicians. This picture is just so incredibly wowful that I don't know what else to say...except that I love it

I love it, the fact he is playing alone, in this street where a lot of things happen, a lot of people are living...

that's awesome... Sometime last year I decided to give to all the buskers I went past, even if they weren't playing at the time. This guitarist was really confused ^_^;;

I was a street busker for a year. The image almost feels like a mirror to me.

beneath fluorescent starlight
so many nights
churning
to open a heart
or soothe a mind
stirring
for part the silver get me by
but few
turning
till starlight
also turns
away...

wow, this shot is absolutely great, it's amazing, I love the range of values you captured here, the rather dark background, and this bright figure. it's interesting how this busy, modern background seems to be totally detached from this guy, who, alone with his guitar, seems to be in his very own world...maybe he sits there to earn a few bucks, but maybe he just plays the music for himself, because he's enjoying it.
that's definitely one of the best street photos I've seen in a long time and it's not like there were little street-musician shots
technically perfect, and most important, you captured a story! well done!

I wish I lived where you did! You take such good photos and all you do is go out onto the street...! Hey, I think I'll go to town and try it...

That's a great shot, very solitary. Just a musician sittin'...I love it.

oh I love street-musicians! I once sweared me to support every single street-artist (musician or painter) I come across (except when I have no pennys), even if I've got not much money.
I love that picture, you've captured the mood very well and it's very deep. The expression of his face says alot, too.
