No, no, it can't be over yet. There are too many adventures they'd miss on the way...and Luffy wouldn't like that. He's not about the destination or the prize, really, he just wants to do awesome things with his nakama. If he got to one piece right now, I wouldn't put it past him to ignore it and try to go back to fishman island and continue on from there.
I'm thinking that this is just a huge detour from their intent to go to fishman island. That place sounds way too cool to NOT see. >>
I hope the badly wounded crewmembers were taken somewhere safe...mostly Zoro. D: They've had enough beatings for now, they need a break.

yeah, its not One Piece, finding OP would be way more climactic.. though this situation is nothing less than climactic... its just not the same type as im thinkin it will be.
however, i think that if they found OP, it would only open up more opportunities for them. i mean, he would be the pirate king and have complete freedom to roam the sea's

Nah, they can't find it until they make it there the hard way. The right way. They all have to be strong enough to be the greatest in the world. They can do that themselves with enough time.
'Sides, you think the government would let them roam free just because they found the one piece? Heck no! They have to meet up with Dragon first, and have a huge confrontation with the world government. AFTER they've gone through enough and gotten strong enough.
I'm wondering when the others will achieve their dreams, though. Before or after Luffy? Hmm. Probably a bit of both for the whole crew.
