..I love foreign languages for certain reasons I am now learning Arabics (faved language of all).
My native language is Malay and I do speak English (like right now lah ).

It comes from the same word (Afw, or Afo)
When you say "ALafw" AL here = the in English, but it doesn't change the meaning
When you say "afwAN" AN here = much more of afw, so it makes the meaning bigger
But in our speak we use them both equally

Alf in Arabic = thousand in English, so i think it comes from it (1000 Afwan)

My school is an islamic school so we do sometimes communicate in Arabic
Oh yes, Ahlan wa sahlan! it's like "Welcomex100",right? How beautiful Arabic is~

Just for your information, the first sentence I actually learnt Arabic from middle school is "Ana uhibbu allughatul 'arabiah"

That is amazing, i love islamic school.

when we say Ahlan wa sahlan we add "mea't" which mean 100, the word it self "Ahlan wa sahlan" don't include ×100, but we usually add "mea't" to it.

Arabic is really amazing, it is The Quraan language, we have Alfussha &Ala'mmeah, we speak Ala'mmeah in our communication (outside the school or university or Massjed, ...), and Alfussha inside it (which mean that we respect this place and those people in it).
