I did! I had a nice, quiet day with the family, and some friends of mine are wanting to get together sometime soon to celebrate when everyone's schedules cooperate with each other.

and did you get anything nice perhaps?

Yeah, very true. It was enjoyable.
And I asked for Amazon gift cards, and that was what I got. lol So that was good. I prefer choosing what I want to get online and buying it for a reasonable price rather than having people pay extra for something specific in a store. I haven't used the gift cards yet, but I will soon enough. Thinking about using part of the money to get the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD collection. I've never played Birth By Sleep since I never owned a PSP, but now I have the chance to play it.

Yeah, the same here, I also rpefer to shop online. One reason is that you have much more products available than in regular stores, other reason is that you can buy stuff which is already 'obsolete', meaning no longer produced and sold (like fx old video games, music CDs or movies) and finally the price is lower in most cases as the stuff is second-hand. And I don't personally mind stuff I buy to be already used, as long as it's still usable. I find no sense in paying too much just for sake of something to be 'fresh' and untouched. And full of all kind of taxes at the same time.
Just as you are talking about Amazon, I recently tried to buy one book about personal development on British version of the webpage (I'm from Europe so it's better for me to ship from UK than from US), but even though the shipping was cheaper, I could not find the book in the same low price as on US webpage. So in both cases I'd pay too much, therefore I gave it up ;/ Too bad that there are no such books in polish bookshops. Polish awareness of self-development is sadly very, very low.
Heh, Birth by Sleep was a reason why I bought PSP in 2011 It was not too expensive at that time.
But I do not have PS3 though. Currently I'm planning to buy PS4, for KH III.

Aw, that's too bad getting that book you wanted wasn't very doable. I like to buy stuff if it's in a very good used condition if I can, too. I've saved a nice bit of money from doing that. One example was when I bought the first Professor Layton game, I got it in "Like New" condition from Amazon for under $30; whereas buying it completely new would've cost over $50. No way was that happening. lol
Oh man, the pressure for me to get a PS4 has been growing what with the KH III trailers looking gorgeous so far, and then the remake of FFVII being announced, and then FFXV will be coming out, too... and Batman Arkham Knight. x__x I'm gonna wanna play them all eventually, I know. I guess that's enough for me to justify buying the console.

Well, it's a pity, but let it be. It's not like I won't manage without it.
Anyway, I've become quite a self-development junkie lately I've been doing some really good progress thanks to that.
By second-hand I did not mean something that barely works, but still, but instead something which is in fairly good condition despite being used. And the price is lowered significantly just for the fact it's not new.
Yeah. I would probably spend about 3 times as much money on games right from the store than I did buying tchem online. Also, most of games I would not find in stores in my city, only would have to go to nearby big one. And that still would not guarantee I'd find them in there. You know, these stores have policy of selling only best-selling games in Europe, otherwise it's not profitable to them. And thus, you have very limited choice.
And after all, I would no longer find my FF X, KH and KH II games pretty much anywhere at the time I bought them, just online
But also, there are some games which are not popular but still really good. Mostly old ones though. And you have really slight chances of getting them even online. That's when piracy comes in handy. As ostracised as it is, it cannot be seen as something bad and unfair. In my opinion piracy is justified when you no longer have an access to a title you'd want to play.
Right, I just wanted to ask you if you've seen the trailer So they re decided to remake FF VII. I wonder if they just started or have been working on it
or some time already and they just stayed quiet. I've got hopes it will be released in 2017, on the game's 20th anniversary.
I'm looking forward to see what kind of changes will this remake introduce. Whether there will be some additional locations or sidequests. Also, it'd be cool, if they made the plot more coherent with other partes of the series, like if perhaps Genesis or Angeal made an appearance (even cameo), despite the fact they do not appear in the original game.
Well, anyway, KH III is pretty much enough reason for me to buy PS4 Other good games only make it more worthy.

Yep, you pretty much laid out why I, too, prefer shopping online.
When it comes to, like, emulating games, I don't see it as bad if the game is out of print, which most older games are; so I agree with you there.
I hope they've actually started a fair amount of work on the FFVII remake and aren't planning on it coming out in ten years or something. Like they did with FFXV which used to be FFXIII Versus... It would make sense for them to release it in 2017 for the anniversary, and I hope they do. I never considered that; it'd be great. I do look forward to what they're gonna do with the game, but I'm also afraid that they're gonna stray too far from the original. It'll be tricky for them to get the right balance of new and the same, but I hope they'll achieve it. I never played Crisis Core, but if they did make some references to that game and they wouldn't be out of place, then that'd be cool, I suppose.

Yep. But sad thing is that even such games are considered illegal. A lot of roms were deleted from coolrom webpage, which until recently was one of the best online rom resources ;/ It's just pointless that they don't allow them to keep them downloadable anymore.
Yeah, that'd be kinda pointless if they started it just recently. It kinda seems to me they want to publish it in 2017 and they just wanted to surprise us, that's why they stayed silent.
I don't think they'd stray too far. If you play FF IV/III remakes, you'll see that not much has been changed besides graphics and some battle mechanics (like names of spells, enemy weaknesses and such). But it'd make the remake more interesting if there were some more differences from the original.
There is no fun in playing the same game but in enhanced graphics.
And in fact, itd. be the best, if they joined all - Before Crisis, Crisis Core and FF VII. Possibly also some references to the timeline ahead - Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus.
True, but they didn't really took a proper care of FF XIII Versus, only divided themselves into many different projects. In my opinion a sequel to FF XIII as well as other parts of the saga are kinda redundant. FF XIII wasn't successful enough to deserve a whole saga.

AngelynnB In reply to Masanohashi [2015-06-26 18:38:08 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I hope that's how it really is. It wouldn't make sense for them to announce the remake and not plan on having it release in a few years. The fans would tear them up. x_x I would imagine they'd have maybe new sidequests due to them most likely making the environments much bigger. That could be fun. The bigger and more immersive environments are the change I'm looking the most forward to. There's so much you could do with the FFVII world. And, yeah, since they have that whole timeline now, who knows what they could end up doing.
I never played FFXIII myself, but I never really understood why they came out with so many sequels for it... It never seemed like something that was necessary; just something easier to make and get money from than coming up with a whole new entry in FF series. Seemed silly. I'm sure that it's much better off that Versus turned into FFXV. At least I hope so. The demo for that game makes it seem pretty promising.

Yeah, if they publish something like that, it may hint it's soemwhat close to being released. Because it hardly makes sense to show a trailer of a game that will be released after next 10 years. Of course, there were games that were announced long before their final release but they were due to specific circumstances and these delays were not included in their plans. But normally, when a trailer is presented, it means something is going to be released within next four years, the latest. So I can hazard a guess they are going to publish it in 2017.
Exactly. Like they could make Angeal or Genesis optional bosses or something. Plus more details on Avalanche as an entire organization. To think about it, the sole FF VII tells us little about its universe, it just makes a great series with all other parts to it.
To me it seems like they were ambitious with FF XIII saga, but they ultimately failed. Their ambitions overgrown their product.
In my opinion they should have just stopped with FF XIII which was underwhelming and we are not exaggerating saying this.
Oh well, hopefully they will learn on their mistake.
