# About me
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in pre-veterinary medicine, and a minor in biology, cum laude, in the year 2014. I am diligent, determined, and detail-oriented and I am currently embarking on the application process for veterinary school.Some of my favorite things to do in my “down time” include reading, making stuff, drawing/painting, playing the guitar (I am attempting to re-learn it), hiking, kayaking, photography, research, and video games. Also, despite my somewhat solitary nature when left to my own devices, I do sincerely enjoy going out and spending time with friends or just going for a walk somewhere.
For athletics, I enjoy fencing. I have fenced sabre for 8 years. I was the president and women’s captain of my undergraduate Fencing Club for two years before passing the torch to another so that I could teach them the ropes. I continue to fence with the team even as an alumni to not only enjoy fencing again, but also to help coach sabre when needed. I also love playing softball (slow or fast pitch) and soccer, as well as many other recreational sports. I like being active.
Two things I am passionate about are animals and the environment. I love nature and always have - I will always feel more comfortable in a forest than I would in a city. In regards to animals, I love the relationships we can share with them, the things they can teach us, and the ways that I can help them. If I did not love these things I would not be on the right career path.

I am also an incredibly honest and blunt person and appreciate the same from others. I love adventures and can be a bit impulsive at times haha. I am not afraid of dying - I am afraid of not REALLY living.

Oh my goodness! Are you ok? I hope you heal wicked quickly! I've torn a few muscles and tendons, myself, in the past - it's no fun at all. And sorry I've not been on the computer for a while. Well, better than death I guess. I'm doing well. Just hanging out. I'm on Christmas leave so I'm not really used to not being at work. Just spent the day playing with my dogs. It's like 75 degrees here in Hawaii so it doesn't feel much like Christmas.

I know what not have work feels like - it's so weird! I am also on a break at the moment, so my time is pretty freed up. Oh, and despite the cold, it doesn't feel much like Christmas for me either.

Ha, it's pretty much beautiful year round, though the rain has been pretty heavy this season. Last year I spent it in Sasebo, Japan, so that was freezing cold / culturally strange. But, yeah, this place is awesome to visit. So much to see and do. It's a bit tougher living here with the traffic and the cost of living, but eh, it's paradise nonetheless.
Ah, what do you do? Anything exciting? Either way, always nice to have a break.

Ah that's exciting. I hope you find another opening soon. I have a BA in communications and philosophy (real useful ugh!) but now I'm a nuclear engineering laboratory technician on a fast attack submarine. I handle the chemistry and radiological controls for the reactor plant.

I may go back to school at some point, considering it's free after I get out of the Navy, but I haven't decided. I should be able to just keep doing what I do now as a civilian and make about double what I make now, so that'll be nice.
