My father was born in Greece (Athens) so naturally there's quite a few Athenas where he's from; he just simply named me the most "common" name he could think of! LOL I have only met two or three Athenas here in the States but I know the name is becoming more popular; I've met quite a few on dA.

My dad is from Cyprus. There are many women who hold the name 'Athena' there also. However, I do believe it was my mother who wanted to name me Athena. She is an American who grew up in Philadelphia. She said that she always liked the name, and the original characteristics of the Goddess Athena; strength, wisdom, power, audacity etc. I have heard the name turn up in video games, anime and other creative sources.

Yeah I thought we could appreciate each others work. haha, I'm really not that into anime that much either. I got into Avatar over the summer though, and felt like doing a drawing. Then I thought about water coloring it. I like the way it turned out so I did some more. It was a good place for me to start with that.

Is "ELDED" an acronym for something?

Well don't stop drawing; if you are this good at 18 imagine what you will be drawing by the time you are 30. I wasn't drawing as good at 18. Keep it up.

It used to be "El Presidentay Dead" when I was 16.

Yeah you're right but it happens to a lot of People whether they like it or not. Work and commitments gets in the way and soon they find they haven't drawn anything in five years. All I was trying to do was give you a compliment...

Well sorry if you are slightly offended, but sometimes with the internet it can be difficult to depict the tone a person is using. When I first read the comment I thought perhaps you had somehow misread my last post and thought that I may of implied that I might deliberately stop creating art. After I posted it I realized it was meant as a compliment. Sometimes when things are read the first time the brain interprets them incorrectly.

But thank you for the compliment though. haha I actually should take that advice...time slips away quite easily.

haha I hope I didn't imply that I thought your artwork was inspired from drug use, if I did that wasn't my implication. I was just stating my association with the word. But yes there are many who interpret work with drastic movement and a high intensity of color to have a sort of artificial/chemical origin.

That is okay, sometimes people do that. hmm I guess by psychedelics you mean my Abstract work. I don't think of my work by psychedelics; as in my mind the word is associated with drug use...and I am strongly opposed to that...
