My day job left me. How rude, huh? So, I write. I have a nice little collection of publisher's rejections AND editor's invitations for me to submit more. I've won a few short story contests and earned surprise trophies and, of all things, merit badges for my erotic fiction. I love it! Fans are the BEST! - even the one's who don't always care for your work, 'cuz they keep you honest.
"Lilith" is a persona that has been with me for a very long time, decades in fact. I lovingly refer to her as my alter ego, because she surely does the things that I won't and she exploits them. This is not to say that I am not adventurous, it's often hard for my friends to keep up with me, but that might give you insight as to just how much more mischievous she is than me. As a dark natured and sexy muse she helps me write, she helps me role-play and cosplay. She whispers those naughty things in my ear that I usually end up having to file down the jagged edge from later in my stories. Which is why you see her peeking on the edge of my stories previews frames here on DA. In Lilith's world, the most chaotic thing you can do is something lawful... every now and then.
She can be found playing on 's site and on the "Art of BDG" blog sebau.blogspot.com , and on my "Portals of Imagination" web site www.brennakaye.com. Some of you may have seen her playing on Writing.com www.writing.com/ or Naked Blades www.asstr.org/~Naked_Blades/co... or Literorica www.literotica.com/stories/. These are older stories, mostly not updated, but the chick gets around.

Interesting you see her that way. Lilith has been with me, mostly as an alter ego, for at least 30 years now. Her "underdog" position in folklore appealed to me from the start. Her powerful sense of freedom and independance from those who sought to control her (especially the father-figure of "God") really resonated within me. My life in darkness (forever working the night shift) reflected hers. She showed me that you can seek equality in a "man's" world and still maintain femininity - you sometimes have to be willing to fight for it, and she does.

My husband is interested now. He is curious what kind of minis yours is painting. Says he would like to know if there are any posted online? He talked me into painting some, so I chose Rackham Confrontation which are pewter. I liked these cause they had such artistic poses and really fantastic elves. I finished thirteen of them. It was so challenging. I have about that many more assembled and primed, but I dont know when I will get back to them. and at least 2 dozen still in the original packages. I just dont have the bug like he does.
Wow, you have such a romantic story with your man. I have not known any one that long except for my family. We are coming up on our 8th anniversary in October. It was love at first sight for us. Never had anyone affect me like he did.
I am still learning to draw with my tablet. I have been drawing traditionally since I was a child, quite a bit more to get used to with the tablet. I never learned to paint on canvas but always kinda wanted to but never did.
The idea of making a comic book is so interesting to me. I had thought about trying it. But wow so much work by myself. Are you working on that or a novel?

These have several years on them, some of them might be the old lead molds for making the minis before they began using pewter and plastic regularly.

He and I are working hard on the web comic, but it comes out in static chapter (novel) format first - that's just the way I write. It bugs him because he prefers to storyboard the work first. We have plans to post several independent pieces as free in DA, his blogspot [link] and our shared website Portals of Imagination [link] to get a feel for how folks like the work and then, because jobs are so rare these days, we are putting together a package of 50 images and texts (that we can't share as free) to join a pay site for some income and the built-in user base. If it wasn't for some very good friends of ours we'd be homeless AND starving artists right now.
I'll be posting the prologue before very long as a sample to get some feedback. Be warned though it's very adult oriented with a necessary rape scene - without it a lot of things won't happen in the story later. The story places wood elves (Sylvan, faie) in a strong barbaric light as they're on the verge of honor and goodness, but they had to learn a hard lesson with their hate of the dark elves first. The dark elves (Veilen and Shadewe) are in more of a defensive position than traditional "Drow" stories. Like the Drow, they are far from being "good" and much more hedonistic than typically portrayed: males have a higher value, they are not as driven to "off" a house matron for ambition, and family members are utilized more efficiently to sustain any social positions. However, like a fine wine, they do enjoy their political maneuvering with the other houses. My beta readers have told me the prologue is, "Quite intense, suspenseful, thrilling and raunchy."

Oh I love that site-Cool Mini or not- i used to go look at the minis there. I searched Sebau but did not find anyone with that name. The 40 K wytches are very nice. He did a great job with their faces. The eyes for me was always the hardest part. My husband is painting Warhammer Fantasy-Chaos right now, but he has 40k orcs and space marines. He said he has some of those Dark elves. He wants to post some of his but is kind of afraid they are not good enough. I dont think he has anything to worry about. I will have to go check your links for what you are working on. Your story sounds very interesting. Very ambitious! Have you tried sending them to a publisher? But then again if you can do it yourself you keep the profits.

Very nice work in those minis. I like how the artist captures the masculine features without making them look like the same guy, the elves are especially nice.
Story-wise, I have submitted other story ideas to publishers and got rejected (nicely with useful feedback and invites for more). I don't want to take the publisher's route with this one because this particular story has too much controversy in it that publishers post in their guidelines as taboo - the initial rape scene being a big one. We don't do underage stuff, or stuff with bodily fluid "ick" factors, or the really really icky macabre stuff (::shivers:: - give me the willies just thinking about that). I have been told that my writing style is very "base" and "earthy", which is good in the way that it says there's a tactile feature that folks sense, but in erotica there's a balance between the "mechanical" and the "emotional" that can be tricky to reach and maintain. So, rather than the traditional publishers we're looking at joining pay sites for the built-in user base. Art contributors only typically get 50% of the income, but it reaches a much wider audience than posting and marketing on one's own.

I think you are really making a good choice in taking the route you are with your story. This way you have full control of it. Though only getting half of the profit is not so great. But you have the chance of getting a wider audience, like you said. I am between jobs right now and I would love to be able to figure out a way to pay my bills working for myself. I Would love to be in control of where my energy went to. I hope everything works out for you the way you want it too! I read the next part of the story , powerful stuff! Thanks! Nice pic. I do like it. The hubby and I were discussing just how we'd go about illustrating Chapter 1. We'd have to do a kind of reality cave-like on one side and ethereal wraith-like thing on the other and put poor ol' Kiran in the middle.
