# About me
Let's just say I'm on the left, much farther than most in America. I don't know the perfect system (though I'm definitely on the libertarian left) but I know that I'm against corporate power, but I'm also wary of government power. I think emphasizing local community is best, small towns and neighborhoods in big cities, the latter being kind of like small towns. I would like to see more representation of the interests of ordinary people in the government, and I would like to see big business taken down a peg, more like many pegs.Likes: Tacos, Pad Thai, Social Justice, Cappuccinos, Chocolate, Snow, Cooking, Clean Furry Art, Lamb Vindaloo, Kittens, Foxes, NYC, International Travel, New Journalism, Memes, Punk, France.

You can run, but reality is around every corner, waiting for you.
'green' energy is failing world-wide. There are 600 groups across just Europe, fighting against your vaunted wind power facilities, which cause more jobs to be lost than they create. See Spain for a good example of that.
'man-made' global warming is going down the hopper, also.

Yes I do. I find it quite good. Like its first article of its Spring 2013 issue was about socialists being interested in minutia about different parties and compared that to people who masturbate in the subways. Also its art direction is quite good.

Not necessarily my fave, but I do think it's generally well-written.
Is this the article you're talking about? [link] It seems to be saying that the threat is very real but not quite as bad as some people say. It still says we should invest in renewable energy and put a price on carbon.

True. After the 90 billion obama already threw away on green energy companies that have gone down the toilet, I guess billions more doesn't hurt...
However $14 gasoline- just one of the final outcomes of a carbon tax- Will.

Couldn't find the original comment, but here's my thinking:
'47% of all petroleum geologists don't believe in climate change,' or some such Nonsense.
Funny how you just Don't seem to see the flip side of that.
A MAJORITY, 53%, by your numbers, WOULD believe in 'man-made' whatever.
Yet they are STILL DRAWING A PAYCHECK FROM the 'big oil' conspiracists.
And somehow, that doesn't bother you. Just the people who Don't 'believe' in your religion.
Just thought I'd mention that.

what do you think of this following quotetion i heard from someone
"don't trust the russians because they had been on the wrong side of history"

BullMoose1912 In reply to drivanmoffitt [2013-04-29 02:15:43 +0000 UTC]
I guess it makes sense since Russia was first an absolute monarchy then a left-wing dictatorship and now it's generally authoritarian.
Though I think it's a shame that the Soviet Union did not live up to the revolutionaries' dreams of a better society.

Well America hasn't supported Russia since the Russian Revolution. America and Russia are still on bad terms with each other from what I can gather.

Because I looked at human nature and saw that I can't imagine people being able to coexist peacefully with no state.

bttlrp In reply to BullMoose1912 [2013-02-21 03:42:59 +0000 UTC]
I think that is to fetishise the idea of human nature somewhat. The question of global redistribution of resources and scarcity have to factor into a socialist alternative as well - a state will exist for as long as it needs to, for as long as a flow of resources need to be controlled. If there were enough for everyone to go round, people wouldn't need to fight or steal and the psychological motive for both would vanish. It's Sociology 101 that Poverty is the root cause of crime!
