# About me
Hey, I'm Christian.I am a firm believer in love. I try not to hate and for the most part I'm successful.
I love kids. Their innocence gives way to insight that adolescents and adults would never think of because we're too busy looking at every side of a situation instead of the most straightforward one. I hope one day to be a good father.

How does an honorable mention in the haiku contest sound?

You know it! Going by the idea I got from the picture, what I'm going to be writing is going to be a little out of my comfort zone, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

You've got time, let the ideas settle and flow then.

Yeah, for sure. I've got another contest I'm entering that's ending on Wednesday, so I'm getting that story out of the way first. But I think you'll like the idea I've got brewing for you contest

Since I last talked to you, my work grew a great deal (possibly) I have developed an interest in my little pony, have posted up some writing, and so on.

So I took a quick read of what you have in your gallery.
It seems very generic, angsty teenager stuff. Believe me, I know growing up is no walk in the park, but you don't need good things in your life to happen to be able to write in a happy tone (Yes, I read some comments, too). And the one story, I think you called it. With the girl who jumped off her roof. There was no character development. Just a stale introduction and a sudden ending. Nothing to immerse the reader in the world. Nothing to get lost in.
And while poetry in general doesn't need to have a rhyme scheme, there should be a rhythm within the words. Just think about lyrics. They have a melody, a rhythm. It's less apparent in poetry because it's left up to the reader, but it still should be there.
On unrelated notes, I'm also a fan of MLP. And if you ever need to talk to anyone, you can always talk to me. Honestly, I believe that telling a stranger your problems is sometimes more secure than telling your friends. Because is a stranger tells someone, what are the repercussions? No one you know will ever find out.
But yeah. Keep writing. You're getting better

Now don't get me wrong. Your writing is by no definition bad. There's just lightyears of room for improvement, like there is with everyone.
And the number one way to get better at writing is to read more. And I'm not talking about Twilight, Hunger Games, Harry Potter. I'm talking about the classics. The Adventures Of Huck Finn, Alice in Wonderland, that kind of stuff

I have read both those books

Now did you just read them, or learn from them and appreciate it not for its content, but for its structure?

Well, personally I liked wonderland more but the adventures was good too. And I am not sure how to tell which from the other, how can I tell?

If you can immerse yourself in the world and develop a scene in your mind, then it's good prose. If you can talk about the characters like they're your best friend, then it's good character development.
A good plot does nothing without good words to breathe life into it
