But, yay! Now the plot and characters have better context.
The artwork has changed a lot since the first two issues- in a good way.
Tbh, Winter looks so so similiar to Maria Robotnik though. I think it's just the blonde hair and the blue dress. And the fact that she's with someone that wants to define himself and not be too bound to anyone.
Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty sure I get it better now and I can say now that I do like the plot.

Yeahhhhhhhh though I kinda had to do that. Blue eyes and blue dress cause water/phlegmatic temperament, blonde hair because elves are blonde and brightly colored. As for Arietillus himself, I think you'll find he's actually sortof the exact opposite of Shadow. Shadow is very dispassionate about day to day life, Arietillus is always grinning and making mischief, no matter what's at stake. Shadow is driven mostly by the promise he made to those dear to him long long ago, while Arietillus lives entirely for his own desires (at least at first) which just so happen to include ruthlessly butchering those he considers to be evil. Shadow is a disillusioned moralist. Arietillus is more of a well-intentioned hedonist. Does that make sense?

Okay, that's a good point. I didn't really think about it in terms of water and elves. I think that makes sense. He does seem to be more along those lines anyway now that you say that. It's interesting. He definitely stands out among the rest of the cast so far in the way he is.

Yeah, he kindof steals the show--it's actually gonna be important later, the way he stands out as a shadowy violent figure whose intentions are allegedly noble but whose methods are dubious.
