I've been having trouble writing a specific scene; unfortunately, writing goes... very, very slowly for me, and Children of the Sun is going to have a lot of writing even if it ends up shorter than expected.

I have no interest in having additional writers. Any benefit they could bring is massively outweighed by the disadvantage of "i need to explain the setting in excruciating detail in order to make sure everyone's on the same page". It's not worth it.

Yeah, both forms have feathered wings. (I suppose the manipulator arms for their base form could also be considered wings considering the feathering, but then we start getting into what counts as a wing vs an arm in a flightless species with two sets of limbs on nearly opposite ends of the wing-arm spectrum.)

Ideas, no, but you are not just using ideas, you're using very thinly removed copies of their art. Even if you think they're uncreative, you can just fucking ignore them; they aren't hurting anyone, unlike you.

Not to mention that stealing customers from small-scale artists is just a shithead thing to do. You think they make a lot, then you realize that rent and taxes alone annihilate most profit made from adopts. You would make more money and have more security working a minimum-wage job. Taking away a potential customer is basically telling all artists, not just the one you're ripping off, that you value feeling superior over letting them earn anything approching a living wage.

So what have I stolen? A hand fan placed on the bum of an animal? One could then say they stole the hand fan. No one owns that idea, no one owns cheek markings and no one owns bandannas. No one is stealing anything. Not even the customers, people buy their designs because they like them or want the CS community, people buy mine cause they don't want that and like my designs. They can even make their own if they wish, no CS owner has lost income over these designs, you can clearly see that with the sales they have, the only thing that is hurting the CS owners is the fact that the new "it" species is only a short lived fad. And is you base your income on a fad and not just your art skill, then that is their own fault. At some point the fad will end and they will have to find a new way of making money. 

In short. I have not stolen anything by law, the CS owners are fine, its just personal morals and feeling that are hurt, which is not my problem honestly. I shouldn't walk on eggshells to not hurt someones feelings. This is life, learn to suck it up and buck up, if you want to play business, then learn the full ins and outs of it, because in the real world, cheaper items of the same thing are out there. And I'm sure the big CEO of that company doesn't go home and cry about how Dr Thunder is flying off the shelf at food lion.
