# About me
I am a Christian manga artist who loves traditional art. in this day and age though every traditionalist must learn a few tricks from technology but, i try to keep it a bit old fashioned if i can ^_^ I enjoy life. No I'm not a mentally disturbed artist (despite the belief mental illness comes with the talent haha) God has blessed me in so many ways and i want to thank him for all of my success and failures as well because through them, I learn so much.Artist’s Statement:
My intent with my work is to create something beautiful. It is a way for me to feel closer to Him who formed and created me and so many other wonderful and beautiful things. I feel like God has placed a special appreciation for Japanese culture, its people and it’s art within me. Much of my work is reflective of my interest in Asian design, taking on the form of anime-like heroines as the usual subject. I consider myself to be a manga artist however, not really a manga or anime enthusiast. My wish is to break away from the negative connotation to manga "created by Americans". I want to break the lingering stereotype separating people from enjoying the flow and style manga techniques can bring to a piece of art. I want others to be able to appreciate the artistry of Japanese comic styles. My hope is that the viewer will come up to me and ask about my work as just work and not a type of fan art. I feel as though if we all were to get past the assumption of the genre’s status, we would be able to think deeper and more freely, being able to enjoy the large eyes and delicately drawn outlines that many styles of manga have to offer. This would bring me back to my first point: “ I want to make something beautiful.” One of the things that I enjoy pondering sometimes is the fact that God designed and created cheery-blossoms. as random as it sounds I think the idea ties everything that I wish to accomplish together. I am like a kid walking in my Father’s big shoes trying to be like Him when I grow up. I will never be as awesome of a creator as God (obviously) but the process is so worth it! Through it I get to know Him more by understanding and studying His design as He guides me through life and how to live it to the fullest. My signature is marked (D.O.K) . My belief is that I have been paid for and adopted by the King of kings. I am a Daughter of the King. I am free to reflect His glory through my work and speak with Him about anything, When I fall down He picks me back up reassuring me of my worth and I continue to get better at the talents God has given me without having the wait of approval on my shoulders. I want others to find as much wonder as I do in God and His nature.
