yeah. it does take a lot of time and fiddling to engineer a pokemon game which doesn't follow game freak's usual format but is still balanced.

Fankies! I'm gonna use the hell out of Jet late-game, but I'm banning him to uber in case this game ever actually develops a competitive battling scene. 130 attack + skill link + buffed base power of multi-hit moves like in Gen V = utterly broken monster. even with his horrendous special bulk and double weaknesses to ground and fighting, come on he's a steel type they laugh at entry hazards and he's a frigging fast one at that

and then there's the secondary ability technician, and drain punch, plus the multi-strike moves have potential to do more damage and at the very least are still pretty strong.

i think you saw how broken he was in that battle though, he iced half my team XD (granted, one of them was death fodder, BUT STILL I DEBUFFED HIS ATTACK TWICE AND HE WAS STILL MESSING ME UP)

i'm going to also call gallows uber, or at the least ban his primary ability simple, because he can learn rock polish and nasty plot, and is ridiculously bulky. he can set up for a sweep in 2 turns while the opponent whittles away at him in vain then ruin everything. he's also way too unpredictable, since he can learn pretty much any special attack under the sun because of the whole medium mechanic. then again magic guard is OP as well because he'd be utterly immune to any residual damage on top of his idiotic bulk. so no. gallows is uber too.

clive and virginia are probably OU and RU respectively. virginia's stats all suck except for her speed, and clive is easy to counter because he's slooooow. he can be annoying under trick room but his special bulk is low enough that he could easily be OHKO'd by a strong supereffective special move.

i think too hard about this lol. this game is meant to be catered to more hardcore pokemon players, it's not that easy casual difficulty that's kid friendly.

Yeah, I'm not into competitive battling, but I let those who are have fun doin' it. I'm not fluent in the lingo or anything. But, I still noticed some of those flaws (powers, or whatever ya' wanna call 'em!) while watching it. It's nice you're making a game for those that are - I think my problem is that when I first started in that stuff, there were no easy ways to EV train Pokemon and all that sort of stuff. You had to breed 'em and pray. I think it was R/S/E when I tried it, and it was too hard.

The problem I bumped into with advance gen was the damage category thing, since it went by type, not common sense. I had to build a lot of Fandomon around this and it was annoying. EV training in Fandomon is easier since most Fandomon yield 3 EVs in their strongest stat, and many of these are really common.

But EV training isn't entirely necessary - even on the GBA game which is balanced around boosting moves (those are broken as hell in normal pokemon games imo), I've beaten the champion using only freshly caught mons (and the movesets they came with, I used no TMs or tutoring). Level 89 Raquel with Quick Claw for the win!

Every society has them all. No drunken warrior can build a kingdom so surely dwarves have to have scholars and engineers and other smart fol too. Seems only logical to look at their society like that (even when its a fantastical society ).
