The Astra Militarum A.K.A: The Imperial Guard.
Why? Real badasses wear flak armour.Β
(Favourite regiments: 8 Cadian. Mordian Iron Guard, one that liberated Volinstad. 2nd Catachan Jungle Fighters and everything to do with the Death Korps of Krieg)

Explain to me why Games Workshop only now has come up with the idea of having a 40K action figure:
www.warhammer-community.com/20β¦
Why are they only making 9000 of them? If I were GW, I'd have made a whole line of 40K figures by now, starting with the Emperor himself and the four Chaos Gods!

1st: Just them milking the Ultramarines again.
2nd: Repersenting the fact that 9000 marines is the average number of any chapter at any given time.Β

1) Obviously
2) Wasn't it 1000?

Yeah, first founding chapters tend to have higher numbers. Not to mention that those geedubs keeps giving them a free hand

I suppose so.
What's your opinion on these three things:
Warhammer Kill Team (video game)
Space Marine (video game)
Fire Warrior (video game)
I'd like to know.

DatTemplar In reply to Vader999 [2020-03-12 13:00:00 +0000 UTC]
Kill Team: never played.
Space Marine: Prefect game, needs a sequel.
Fire Warrior: Updated graphics and improved voice actors would make this game legendary

Too bad Games Workshop stopped making RTS games and didn't continue their shooter games. I get the same feeling when I play Republic Commando and itch for more.

Which isn't enough. I mean, even Star Wars has Empire At War and Star Wars Rebellion, both of which were excellent space conquest games. Imagine if 40K has their version of that where you can conquer the galaxy in the name of the Emperor or the Chaos Gods.

Remind yourself that the fans would want the battles that take place here to be pretty large in scale, not to mention that few Geedubs usually supports stuff that actually sells. Though I would welcome such a game and those who make it actually put in the time to make it right, I personally think that those capable ofΒ making such a thing possible will not give it justice.
I will shove a chain halbred into my gut via my spine from a cliff if I see a triple A 40k game that is as generic as COD

You know what we need? A 40K Battlefront game. Imagine the classic Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 with 40K units instead, except both sides can choose which faction to use against each other. I was just playing the Space Marine game's Chaos Invasion Exterminatus mode before lunch, and it really grinds my gears how I can't have backup from the Chaos forces as the Orks and humans slaughtered each other, even though there were hordes of Chaos forces in the story mode. Imagine capturing command posts and killing enemy generals/heroes in such a mode. Take what was there in the Space Marine game's Exterminatus mode and alter it to be more like the Battlefront 1&2 classic system.
Sadly, Games Workshop doesn't care about its fans. Most of their games are shovelware, and the few that are good just leave you wanting more. There's no Force Unleashed or Jedi Knight or Republic Commando for 40K. Heck, the campaign for the Space Marine game was half the length of a standard Halo game, and the Orks wear out their welcome by the time you meet the Inquisitor. Hence why you saw my 40K Space Marine game idea having every enemy in the 40K books be thrown at the player so that the player can fight them all.

I would agree with you. In fact I will brainstorm on it!!
Example 1: Space Marine special units as champions
Example 2: Choosing different regiments of IG for campaigns
Example 3: Galactic conquest with multiple factions

Vader999 In reply to DatTemplar [2020-03-16 09:11:40 +0000 UTC]
Example 1: I'd go so far as to use named characters like Cato Sicarius and Abbadon the Despoiler.
Example 2: Campaigns AND Instant Action/Skirmish. You want the Cadians to go fight the Word Bearers? Done. Ultrasmurfs versus Khorne Berzerkers? Done. Blood Ravens versus the Thousand Sons? Go for it.
Example 3: Similar to BF2's version, yes. Complete with space battles between battleships where you can board and destroy the enemy vessel.
Thoughts on Space Hulk?

Well, at least the Imperial Guard have balls.
Me? The Tau. Followed by the Eldar. Guevasa for the win!
Still, I kinda find the Space Marines to be overrated. I mean, there's all this lore surrounding their powers and feats, and yet some dumb ork in the tabletop game can chop through them with a scrap iron choppa.
What's the point of all that lore then? Lore is supposed to explain things, not give us false advertising! Even Stormtrooper armor is advertised as being able to hold back bullets and knives, not blaster fire.
Next thing you know, people would say that they can plow through an army of Imperial Guards like nothing, but some dumb lucky Astra Militarum scores a headshot and the guy's dead.

To be fair, in the 41st/42nd Millennium, luck always beats skill. As for Orks, which kind of Iron are we talking about? If it's standard, DAT'S ONE HELLUVA CHOPPA THEY GOTS DERE!!!!

Imagine an Ork Grand Moff with his own Death Star. That's MORE DAKKA for you.
God knows how many turbolasers, and a superlaser that can turn "Holy Terra" into a distant memory.
