Hello, Derek! I saw the Bravest Warriors bgs you did on tumblr, did you use the basic brush? If not what can I use to get that look?

I actually use a brush that was custom made for the Adventure Time designers to use on their bgs. It was made to mimic a Micron .05 on an 11x17 sheet of paper.

Do both! One of the best ways to ensure a long career as a working artist is to get good at as many disciplines as possible. Also try water colors, and oils, and pixel art and more! Hang in there!

Hi, I love your work! And as many people have said it's great to have someone that works on AT bg art on dA ^^ I was wondering if you sketch out the bg first and then use digital software to go over it or do you just draw straight into the software? thanks

I draw straight onto my cintiq in Photoshop, but of course, I do sketching as well! Always gotta have a nice structure to draw on top of. Thanks for the kind words!
