Yes you have. You're actually a bit better than me honestly. You at least do interesting things. I've always kinda played it safe and have gotten stale for it. Just keep trying and pushing you'll go far.Β
I remember when I first started I needed a guide on how to draw Stitch's ears. No joke. I was that bad. XD Now I draw ears like it's going out of style and it's not even the exact ears xDΒ

I used to use references for everything, but now I tend to wing it. It works out ~75% of the time.

I have this pride and ego I pretend to not acknowledge when it comes to references. I hate using them as I feel like I didn't fully do it myself even though even the greatest artists uses them as if I'm a snowflake. It's why every time I draw more frequently drawn characters by me they're body shapes and particularly the head or horns are always different XD If I'd have a multiverse for every head I've done of my character Shadow, it would make Spider Man version look like a few friends in a garage xD I'm pretty sure I could have a barely functioning town XDΒ
I mostly wing everything. If I can't do it then I just go apeshit with the canvas and do whatever. I end up with a lot of random stuff with just throwing lines everywhere and connecting them xD My problem is I don't use references nor do a lot of interesting things. I.E. I've become super stale XP
You at least did interesting things and colored. It's rare I color anything and believe me my art could use some coloring and backgrounds xDΒ
