Have you come from the Commission-an-Artist group?
If so and you want to commission an artist, you either have to comment on their commission price sheets or send them a note to talk to them privately! It all depends on the artist you pick and what you want!
For example, if you wanted something commissioned and wanted it in an anime style, then I would suggest you look at this folder:Β www.deviantart.com/commission-β¦Β go through the commission prices from the available artists, choose one, and either comment or note them!
Or, you could write a journal entry of what you want to have commissioned and submit it to this folder:Β www.deviantart.com/commission-β¦Β where artists will come to you and offer a price.

To commission someone on DA and the group seems a bit awkward and difficult, but it's not as awkward or difficult as you think!
Now, there are many artists on the group, some as members and others whom are not (you do not have to be a member to post work here.)
I suggest that you either:
- Write a journal entry with all that you need and are looking for in it and then submit it to the correct folder:Β commission-an-artist.deviantarβ¦
- Or that you search through our galleries and try and find the artist that you like the most :Β commission-an-artist.deviantarβ¦
And if you do not know how to submit a journal entry to a folder, please read this:Β commission-an-artist.deviantarβ¦
As for not offending anyone, well, everyone is different and so I can't really say much about it. I'm not easily offended, for instance, but some might be.
Be polite, detailed, patient, and understanding. That's all really. It can take a long time to do art, depending on the detail and the materials of course. Keep in contact with the artist if you can as well, so you know what's going on. You may be commissioning them but you should work as a team to create the finished product. They might need references, details, and feedback that only you can give them.
