of course man, yourt stuff is great. You mind my asking where/if you went to college fer drawing related stuff? I'm totally baffled as to what I wanna do next. Thinkin 3d or concept stuff if I can get up to snuff, but for the most part I'm a bit lost

Thanks,
I went to the Rhode Island School of Design for illustration. It was a relatively traditional school based around foundation skills, so although you will learn a lot about sculpture, illustration and design there are few courses on 3-D modeling and concept art. In my opinion 3D/concept stems from foundation learning any way and no matter what you do you will have to go out of your way to learn specific programs thoroughly. Plenty of people do 3-D and concept art together as a profession as well. From what I have observed, most people that have become professionals would have made it no matter what school they went to.

aye, I originally went in a completely differant direction and I feel like I've lost alot of time doing other stuff (specifically I was a trainee cameraman for film). Just starting to get back into art related stuff now. Mostly trying to decide if I should go back into some kind of college course or get some simple post production work of some kind and keep plugging away at the art in my own time. Anyway, cheers for sharing your stuff dude, its really excellent

you're welcome, I was looking for contests, and came across something you'd written on the community forums. But there's not much going on except for an Nvidia one that's only for citizens of the US. So I can't enter it.

Jayses, word gets around, eh? Yeh Most of it is on a2, got a couple of a3 aswell. I might photo 'em and stick 'em in scraps. It's actually so good for improving anatomy etc. Have done 2 sessions more and I'd do more if I could! Have you been drawing many nekkid folk yourself these days?

Thanks Bro. Personally I would start with 2D at the moment and work your way into stuff like 3D Max or Cinema 4D.
3D stuff has a steep learning curve, so its best to ease your way into it, so that when you do start getting into programs like that, you will be able to do both whenever you want.
Thanks again for checkin out my stuff.

Gyzmotnik In reply to chiprocks1 [2008-11-20 21:12:49 +0000 UTC]
yeah, thats kind of how its been going for me. I started to learn 3d stuff this year and got back into 2d via concept sketching, and rediscovered something I really like. And from there finally started into digital 2d work.
There's alot of crossover too, with PS being used in texturing and such, and just alot of the basic concepts, like layers, applying to 3d related stuff (and I really know arse all about them). Long road ahead methinks
Cheers for the chat man. Looking forward to seeing more of your work
