You are very welcome, I actually saw your stuff at the VCA grad show and asked my friend Timyxoara(Thelma)who did these pieces because I think your artwork is pretty awesome, especially your storytelling skills,I definitely saw the makings of an Illustrator,so I asked Timyxoara if you planned on applying to Illustration, and i thought i heard her say yes, but i could be wrong, so I am asking you, are you applying at all. Timyxoara told me and i was intrigued to look at the rest of your artwork, and I was not disappointed. I did not have a piece of paper on me at the show to write down your da name down, so she gave me your da name through da instead, and then I just added you right away because I just thought you were extremely talented, so yeah no worries. Thanks for the add and the kind words, I truly appreciate it. Thanks again.

Oh yes, Thelma. It's funny because I met her through dA first. XD
I am very touched that you would go through so much trouble to look at my art!
As for illustration, sadly no. I have never applied for the other Sheridan programs, actually
Originally I wanted to go to Mohawk and do a comic program for a year, but I'm reasonably certain the program doesn't exist anymore.
My reasoning for not just applying to other programs after that is that I'm out of money and I would rather not be in school all the way through my twenties. So now I'm off to try my hand at being an adult for a while. XD
How about you, do you have higher program aspirations?

I77ustrat1v3mind In reply to Horace-Bulregard [2013-05-01 18:34:10 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I know Thelma from the VCA program at Sheridan College because we attended the program together for those three years(2008-2011), but all in total, we known each other for about 5-6 years now, I believe, but yeah I knew her first from the program and then after that, we started to become really great friends and have been chatting on da ever since. Oh it's not a problem, don't worry about it, I usually go through all the trouble with other artists that I like as well, so you are not the only one.
That's alright, plus the reason I asked is because your style is very illustrative, I believe though you will be a successful illustrator all on your own anyways, there is no need for more schooling, if it is not needed, just have to practice your craft every day that's all. yeah I was thinking about doing the comic program, instead of my 3rd year of VCA ,but that of course, got cancelled after I believe one year because they did not have enough people to fill up seats,so I took 3rd year of VCA, but still would have preferred doing the comic program because it is eventually what I want to get into, but yeah no regrets, even though there were a tons of things wrong with 3rd year VCA. Yeah, that is totally understandable.
Well I got into the Illustration program this year after 5 years of trying, so I start in the fall, and I absolutely cannot wait to start this program because this is what I have been waiting for since the first year that I applied, so yeah the anticipation is getting to me a bit. Please give me a holler. Peace out.

That's cool (:
Yeah, I really don't know what I think of VCA year three. I'm sure they fixed a few things this year since 2011, but there's still something about it that grates on me. There is a lot of contemporary fine art stuff in it that I really didn't feel.
Is that what happened? Damn it. I've wanted to go into comics since I was 13, so naturally I was excited about a comic program. Oh well. I haven't heard any good things about Mohawk anyway.
Congratulations! I hope it works out well for you. (:
My friend ~PurpleMerkle got in last year, and she tells me the first year starts off reeeeeally slow, so watch out for that.

Sorry for the late response, just been busy, doing 2 ATCS for two friends(which includes Thelma)that have been long delayed, and been working on one of my finals for an art show I am planning to do sometime this month or June, I have not decided yet, just depending on how many pieces I get done before then. But I am here now, Yeah agreed. I was wondering why the smiley face is backwards, thought it was a frowny face in beginning, and I was like what, why would you put that beside "That's cool" until I looked at it closely and I was realized it was a smiley face, so it is all good now, definitely relieved, scared me for a second lol.
Yeah it always changes, they always like to experiment with the curriculum, always feels like we are the lab rats of the program. I know you guys I am pretty sure they gave you a choice between taking life drawing and printmaking, how I know this is we fought to get it for our third year but did not get life drawing, so you guys got that choice, definitely lucky to have that, I wish I had that choice, not really a huge fan of printmaking. much more electives to choose from such as a creativity course. The thing is with the program I had no regrets because I did improve a whole lot when I was in the program, learned a whole lot more(1 and 2nd year, and third year(a tiny bit)) and I got awesome friends from it, so it is all good.
Yep, that's what happened. Same here, I wanted to get into comics since late in middle school/beginning of high school. Which artist inspired you to become a comic artist?.
Thanks, I truly appreciate it.
I am not too worried about it, I will be alright.

Horace-Bulregard In reply to I77ustrat1v3mind [2013-08-17 20:39:06 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, sorry about that. I don't know why, but I don't like inducing the coding in the emoticons. I like just having old school text-based ones, so I do them backwards. XD
I was so glad of that. I've done printmaking in the past, and I really wasn't a fan of it. I'd much rather improve my core drawing skill than gain some mediocre ability in an archaic medium that I will probably never use professionally
Except for screen printing. I love that. So much.
I don't even really remember which one inspired me to get into comics. I remember I was a huge fan of Garfield when I was a kid, so maybe that's where it initially started. XD
How about you?
And I am SO sorry for how late this response is. Holy crap. XD

I77ustrat1v3mind In reply to Horace-Bulregard [2013-08-27 14:40:58 +0000 UTC]
Oh ok, that's alright, was not entirely sure why you did that, now I know, such a very cool way to do that .
Yeah you are extremely lucky. Yeah me neither, but I did not mind woodcut, lithograph, and screen printing as well. Yeah true, I am the same way, would rather improve my core drawing skills but I still love to experiment with different mediums, would not work with it professionally either, but would not mind going back to doing woodcut, lithograph, and screen printing later on in my career.
Well for me, I read(or just looked at pictures because I was not much of a reader, got more into reading later down the road) but I believe Todd McFarlane's art in the old Spider-Man comics got me into wanted to draw for comics, and Alex Ross is what got me into wanting to do covers traditionally for comics, so they are the two big ones for me.
That's alright, I have been busy as well, it is not a problem .

Thanks ^^
Yeah, I love experimenting too, but I'd rather do that on my own time and use the professional resources for drawing. XD
Todd McFarlane does do some pretty amazing shit. I was always floored by his toy designs as a kid.
Man I didn't even know Alex Ross by name, but I just looked him up now and went 'OH MY GOD IT'S THAT GUY!' XD
He is pretty amazing as well.
Now I feel super lame with my Garfield.
Though I guess now that I think about it, my art was a lot more influenced by people like Gris Grimly, Jhonen Vasquez, Gerard Way, and Alex Pardee. I just really like telling stories and drawing.
Oh good (:

I77ustrat1v3mind In reply to Horace-Bulregard [2013-08-28 00:57:07 +0000 UTC]
Yeah you are very welcome .
Yeah true, thing is since I am still in college, I will be doing a whole lot of experimenting before I finish the program.
Hahaha yeah I agree, I always loved his art when I was a kid and I still do, definitely love all he has done for the comic community, like create Spawn, Haunt, Venom, make McFarlane Toys, helped form Image Comics, as well as, many other things. He is definitely an inspirational artist. Yeah I absolutely love his toy designs, everything was immaculate. I actually met him at Fan Expo this year, he was extremely nice, I gave him a piece of artwork I did for him(which he liked and said it was very cool, and that he would cherish it forever), and I gave him a business card, and he said he will look at it, I thought that was awesome of him saying that, especially coming from him. Yep before I did not know him by name either but once he appeared at Fan Expo, I started to remember his work when I was younger, he was also a nice guy, definitely would like to meet the both of them again. Yeah I agree he is an amazing artist as well.
No need to feel lame, which you aren't, Garfield is a dope character . I also like Garfield as well. Familiar with Jhonen Vasquez and Gerard Way, other ones I have to search up, and they are extremely awesome artists, I am influenced by a lot of artists as well, but those are the two main ones. Me as well.
Yeah I know right .

Hey Thelms,
Not too bad, took a day break yesterday(played a bit of Halo 4 and hanged out with my mom) because I was painting for two days straight, so I was just taking a breather. What about this Saturday? Are you busy on that day, reason why is I want to see you guys and then draw a bit for portfolio so I want to get many things on that day, if I still goes this Friday, I do my art and then go back home, and then I would have to meet you guys again on that day, it is just better for me to hit two birds with one stone. If you cannot make it this Saturday as well as this Friday, I understand, I can wait until January 19th(that's a Saturday you know, not Friday, the 18th, Friday). Please give me a holler. Peace out.

Kristen cannot go Saturday because she has plans, so 18th will be the best to see one another. That's alright, I understand, I just have to be prodcutive in the meanwhile, that's all . I'm going to respond to both of them here since I don't want to clog up your comments on your art.
So Friday is still good? Let me know~ Also let me know where to meet. Probably infront of the library, right?
I still feel bad orz. Oh well, what can we do. I hope you have been productive thus far!
Sorry it took me so long to respond to you. I was a bit busy and then I got into a spot where I didn't want to talk to anyone OTL Sometimes when my mood becomes downcast I just don't want to interact. Ahaha.
I saw the Hobit late last night. Wasn't bad. Some of it had corny humor and some of it was corny. I was laughing at the stare down near the end. omg. lol. All I could hear in my head was "I'm gonna make you my bitch", "No I'm gonna make you MY bitch" and it was hilarious. lol. Still, I enjoyed it. I mostly liked it for Gollum. Gollum is pretty much me when I'm alone and bored. xD "I knowses the answer! No, shut up!" Haha. And the freaking Dwarfs...are there suppose to be ones that look like models? My gosh.
Today I went out for some supplies and am trying to figure out Apoxie.
So far I really am dreading professional practise. ;w; So many presentations and horrible anxiety inducing things in that class T_T
Anyway, how are things with you?

Alright sounds good.
Well Friday is still good for me, I have no other plans except for seeing you on that day. I am not too sure about Kristen though, I have not heard back from her yet, still waiting for her response, if I do not hear anything by Wednesday, I will try again and send it to her again, but either way, I will be coming down on that day. Yeah in front of the library would be fine by me.It's alright Thelms, don't feel bad about it, I have been productive in the meanwhile, I finished my abstract piece and I just started the narrative piece, last night so it has been pretty productive, so do not feel bad at all, it is alright, I understand, as long as we meet up this week, I am fine with that.
That's alright, I understand, do not worry too much about it.
Yeah Hobbit was a good movie just not a great movie, still think the Lord Of The Rings trilogy was much better, felt the film(The Hobbit) was a bit forced, and it just did not feel complete as a solo film. It was just an enjoyable film, I think I will like it better when it releases on dvd because I do not have to wear 3d glasses for long periods of time, 3d is only good if it is a short movie, not a long film. Yeah it was pretty funny, and yeah Gollum is the shit, cannot go wrong with Gollum, one of the best characters voiced by one of the best voice actors in the world, cannot go wrong with him. lol. I am not too sure, but I saw the Bard without the make-up on, and it does not look like him at all, they did a really good job on hiding what the actors look like in real life, well some of them anyways. That's cool, never tried Apoxie, I don't think I did, what is it anyway?
Oh geez, we did not even have any presentations when I took professional practice in 2011, I had Stephen Hugo as my teacher back then, do you have the same teacher or someone entirely different. Well I hope you'll do alright in that class
Not much, portfolio, saw the movie Dredd, meeting up with a friend this Thursday that I knew from High School, I have not seen him in a couple of years, but we keep in touch on Facebook once in awhile, so that should be fun, that's about it, not that much going on with me.

Alright, so Friday is on no matter what. Keep me posted about Kristen though :3
Agreed. It was enjoyable at least so that's good. I really liked the visuals in it. And the forest scene with the...crap. What are they? Too many creatures that were alike in this movie...ogres...orcs..and something else. Oh well. That scene was funny as hell. Really enjoyed it. "I have worms the bigger than my arm" no, no. I think that's just your intestines. Haha.
Apoxie is a self drying...almost like clay substance. You have to mix two parts of it then you have 3 hours work time. In 24 hours it is hard as a rock. I haven't used it either but I've heard good things.
D: Lucky! I am so jealous! I should have took it then. Darn it!
No, we have a new teacher. This is her first time teaching at Sheridan. She seems really nice.
Thanks, I do too.
Tomorrow we have the in-class assignment where we carve into books. I'm not sure what to do at all. ;w; I want to come up with something ahead of time so I'm not staring at them blankly. And no, I wont do something related to the books as the books I'm using is the Twilight Series (finally a good way to get rid of them).
Oh cool, hope you guys have a good time.

I77ustrat1v3mind In reply to Timyxaora [2013-01-14 01:34:07 +0000 UTC]
Yep, that is correct. Yeah no problem, I will definitely keep ya updated
Yeah it was enjoyable, it made a bit more enjoyable though taht I went with my friends to see the film, would not be the same by yourself, because you have no one to talk to after the film until you get home, was a bonus, that I got to enjoy it with my friends, usually go to the films by myself, so it was just good to have spent time with them even though it was painful to watch it because of the 3D not the actual movie itself, the actual experience watching the film and who you are watching it with, that's all that matters. Yeah the visuals were amazing, just needed to see a bit more of Smaug the dragon, just saw his tail and eye, that is about it, not enough, that was probably my only complaint with the movie, that's about it, now that I think about it.But yeah I got to agree, the visuals were really good as usual, Oh the forest scene was I believe trolls because later on they turned to stone because the sun came out, that is why in like the fairy tales the trolls were always under bridges because they did not want to see the sunlight, same goes for gargoyles I believe, but the trolls are definitely not gargoyles. Yeah it was, I thought it was very funny.
Oh ok, I got it. Oh you have to show me after you finished what you are plan to work on.
Yeah you should have took the one I took, our teacher was awesome, learned a lot in the class while still having tons of fun, it was a very chilled out class, not as chilled out as Anthony Make peace but pretty chill. Oh ok,well at least that is good, makes the class a bit more bearable, You are very welcome.
Oh I believe you will figure out something by then, you always manage to come up with pretty good ideas, you are an extremely creative person. Yeah that's alright, agreed, good way to rid of those books,Twilight sucks completely.
Yeah I hope so too, should be a lot of fun Please give me a holelr. Peace out. From Darren.

Yeah, it's always better to see something with your friends.
Maybe next time ask if they will see it in 2D if that option is available?
Aha yes Trolls. Thats the word I was looking for. There were so many creatures that looked alike that I forgot which was what. Haha.
Alrighty~ I'll probably bring them to work on while we are all together anyhow.
Haha, I did. I know what I'm doing for the actual project now too. For the next mini assignment I have to think of a 3 line story. orz Wish me luck on that. Haha. I kind of have a 2 line one already but I can't think of the third line.

Oh hey, I heard back from Kristen, Kristen can still come out on Friday as far as she knows, will let us know if plans changed.
Agreed. Yeah definitely will ask them the next time if we can see it in 2D instead, because I cannot handle it again in 3D especially for long periods of time unless they change the way the glasses are and make them a bit more comfortable. Yeah agreed, a lot of the creatures looked similiar or sounded similiar, so it is very understandable to get confused between the different creatures.
Alright sounds good.
Oh that's very good, proud of ya Oh you will be fine, you managed to think of ideas for two projects(in-class project and actual project)which is very good, so I think you will think of an idea for this project, no problem. If you are having trouble with it, tell me what 2 lines you have and I will see what i can do to help you out. Please give me a holler. Peace out.
