Hey
I noticed on your CV that you've recently done an MA at Falmouth Uni. I'm going there next year, to do a degree in Graphic Design, I wondered if you had a tips/knowledge useful to me? What did you think of the place, did you like it etc?

Thanks, Emily.
P.s I LOVE YOUR WORK!

Hi Emily, I'm so sorry for not replying sooner!

Falmouth is beautiful, you're so lucky to be going there! You've made a good choice

I don't know much about the Graphic Design course but the university itself is brilliant, I think Graphic Design is at Woodlane campus which is unarguably the better campus! Its beautiful and has a creative and close-knit atmosphere. But you'll also want to go up to Tremough lots to use the amazing facilities and the huge library.. you can walk it, depending on where you live in falmouth it takes about an hour but its a nice walk through Penryn. Bus is cheap though! Only 50p.

If you want to learn any IT software in particular, either from scratch or at expert level or want to get a Photoshop ACA(Adobe Certified Associate) certificate then the IT lady Susana Travis runs these courses which are free and well worth going to. I'm sure you'll get emails about them etc. but I would recommend them for sure.

When you're in falmouth you should make sure and check out not only Gyllyngvase beach which is the main/biggest one but also Swanpool which you can walk to easily from gylly, on the coastal path, bout 10 mins. And also visit the castle on the hill and up there is also a leisure centre if you want to swim in non-salt water! Or use a gym. Then there is the docks where there is a student halls type of building so people you meet at uni might well live there.

Shopping-wise there are two tescos at either end of town, but the one on The Moor is the better value for money. There is also a huge sainsburys which is about half an hour walk out from the town centre, 5/10 min drive.. and just up from that is a Lidl which is great value for money! Then you're pretty much in Penryn which has a whole high street of its own, not as big as Falmouth but has some nice little cafes.

If you're feeling rich definitely go at least once to the Courtyard cafe in Falmouth. They have things like knitting/crochet/reading groups going on there too if you're into that!

If you want Fish and Chips definitely go to Harbour lights which is has the best in town and is great because you can then take your food into the pub behind it - The Front - because they don't mind! The Front is a good pub, and Jacobs ladder (up the long long LONG steps from The Moor) is good for live music, its not usually too busy.

Q Bar is a good club/bar.. avoid Shades unless you really want a kind of student-union feeling place, good for cheap drinks and loud, dance /club atmosphere.

OK I've probably bombarded you with enough information now, i will stop waffling.

Hope that helps and enjoy Falmouth!! (You will, theres no doubt!)

Wow. THANK YOU is all I can say.

That has definetely answered alot of my questions & is possibly the best and most epic comment I have ever recieved! Thankyou!

I'm glad that there is alot of things to do, that was one of my concerns as its tucked away - being so far from cities etc but it sounds amazing. I hope I fit in.

Do you know anyone who did/does graphic design there? It'd be great to talk to them about the course and things.

Oh and thanks for the tip about the ACA courses, I shall definetely be joining them! It'd be awesome to get that qualification.

Just wanted to say, Good Luck in everything you do, and I LOVE your work so much
Thankyou. xxx

i'd like to thank you for the fantastic urban scrawl brush set. they've helped me out in various artistic needs. however, there's one that i wish to bring to your attention. i'm the artist for a local band, tower of hananel, and i wish to use your urban scrawl sets 1 and 2 brushes as a means of a (no pun intended) scrawling city background. if it's permissible, i'd love to gain access. there's no commercial value in the art, so i can't say anything for revenue. thanks for reading.
