It's a shame her parents think that way. Do you know if her parents know she's lesbian? If they're as much a scumbag with a straight child, I don't want to know what they're like around gay people... like me.

Nope, her parents think she's straight as an arrow. I think they suspect me of being gay (though I would correct them telling them I'm pansexual if they ever got the nerves to spit venom), and that's why I'm treated so cold... They never acted this way before her and I were together. Such a shame that one small thing can drastically change one's view.

I watched a video last night that a gay man made, and in the video, his lover fell off a roof to his death, and he couldn't come to the funeral because the family threatened to attack him if he went. I broke into tears when that part of the video came 'round (even though I'm usually not emotional), and your poems all remind me of the video... specifically, all the hate and prejudice.

That's horrible... the poor guy. *shakes head* No one should ever suffer anything like that... Even if you think it's wrong, at least let him come to the funeral, I mean seriously, they had a strong connection... *sigh* People need to open up more and not be so insensitive to the feelings of others.
