Well, so far, I've had connections tell me that my strength is in drafting and possibly storyboarding. But apart from that, I'm just not sure if there's a better position where I would fit in. Plus, I never see positions open up on their career site. So I get the feeling that I need to network and get my foot in the door alongside a focused portfolio.

So I guess my question is, if you got a job working on drawings much like your sketches, is there a direction I could move toward to do the same? And what do you think helped you get hired?

I really appreciate the time you've taken to write me. Thank you so much!

The Disney difficult to take someone if you are not a candidate in an open position from their website, or when they do recruitment in exhibitions of animation. If you want to try a portfolio, create it as if you were working on a hypothetical feature film. Ask to see (in the case of storyboard) your method of working. Show some scenes of your movie (hypothetical) tries to make it coincide with their work.

If I remember correctly, you should find the information on the website about what to ask for in a portfolio. As for me, I'm working on the books, not in the studios. The selection process is different in this case. My Friend you're an American and you have a much better chance of me being Italian. You can move to California and try other studios ;) (Wink)
