Just letting you know if you wanna drop me a line, I resigned from Carson's after three years. I'm depressed but it looks like I finally have time to read all those Harry Potter books now.

Carson's parent company is Bonton. Bonton filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 4. At the time, they told us our location was safe. On April 17th, everything went to hell: They failed to find a buyer and only liquidations made bids on the company. So they went into liquidation almost immediately. From there, it was no returns, gift cards, etc. No employee discount, and probably no insurance. Then they said all our paid vacation time was canceled, but the managers may/may not have known, but they all had taken their vacations already. Then the infighting started, and I resigned in writing before things could get any worse.
In other news, (not that anyone cares, LOL) I find out tomorrow if I'm scheduled for surgery or not.

Well, jeez. It's the same thing everywhere. Barnes and Noble is going through something like that, too, only I don't think it's as bad. What really burns me is that the crappy management will find other jobs easily, while my nice coworkers will be out on the streets. Nobody ever said life was fair. But I wish it was unfair in my nice coworkers' favor. I can tell BBB is safe because of what you told me, they're hiring a bunch of new people, more new people than we need, in my opinion. I hope it's just for the summer.

I honestly do not understand why it would have been a problem if I were aborted.
Because in early-term, the zygote, embryo, and early-term fetus are NOT sentient.
Also, in late-term, even though the late-term fetus is sentient, the ONLY three times where late-term abortion is legal and morally acceptable are these three cases:

Well, let's get one thing straight. I'm not against abortion if it's clear that the mother and/or baby might not make it. Or if it was because of rape. I MYSELF can't carry a baby safely (not at the risk of my life, but of the potential baby's life), which is why I'm going to have a surrogate mother when the time comes for me to be a mother. But the fact remains that most abortions aren't done for that reason. And #2 doesn't even really count as abortion because abortion is ending the baby's life and in that case its life has already ended. So it's not abortion, it's just...surgery, I guess.
That said, I know the really early-term babies aren't sentient. But that doesn't mean they aren't alive. I mean, is a drooling newborn even really that sentient? They become sharper later on.

Gametes, Zygotes, Embryos, and Early-term Fetuses have NO such abilities.
Therefore, there's a difference between Late-term fetuses/already-born babies and gametes/zygotes/embryos/early-term fetuses.

Vegetables aren't sentient, really, but THEY'RE still alive...just not really living. I guess I wasn't really sure what you meant by sentience at first.
