Time and place: You said a parking lot but I feel like there's not a lot to go on/discover at a parking lot. Maybe a movie theater? Or the film room of a movie theater? And time would be discovered, but we know it was between 8 and 12?

-*MURDER IN THE THEATER*
At midnight, Ms. Jennifer Rock was found dead at her post in the film room of Samurai Cinema. She was found by her coworker, (insert name her (I guess this would be one of the witnesses)) while they were clocking in for they're shift. The exact time of death has yet to be determined, but the police believe that she was murdered between the time of 8 p.m and 12 a.m. Due to an eye witness account, the police already captured who they believe to be the murderer. More information on this case will come out throughout the day. -
I sighed as I read the paper. They had closed the whole cinema down for the investigation and Maya was having a hard time accepting that. She was also trying to convince me to go and take a look. But I would just stare at her with an unamused face and declined. There was no real reason for me to get involve, they haven't even said the suspect's name yet. So to be honest, I had no relation to the case. But that wasn't to say that I wasn't curious. As usual, when even one person points their finger, the accused is always suspected to be the murderer. I sighed again as I took a sip from my coffee.
(I'm not sure what would make Phoenix me want to go and be the attorney. Maybe for now you can play as gumeshoe)

-Meanwhile-
"Okay, and what was the name of the name of the suspect?" Miles asked into the phone as he wrote down the details of his new case. He quickly wrote down his answer Magnus Bane before speaking again. "Okay, I'm on it." He hung up and dialed the police department.
"Hello? New York Police Department, this is Chief Graham."
"It's Edgeworth. I need to know who's working the Rock case." Edgeworth said impatiently.
There was a sigh before the chief finally answered "We have Detectives Jones, Gumshoe, Noble, a-"
"Gumshoe?" Now it was Miles's turn to sigh as he calmed himself. That man can barely tie his own shoes, let alone work a crime scene. The fact that he was able to become a detective baffles him to begin with and why did their cases always seem to coincide? Well, at least he'll be easy to control. Unless.... "Do you know who the suspect has chosen for a defense attorney?"

The phone rang at Wright and Co law offices, Maya was first to pick up since Pheonix wasn't paying much attention.
"Hello, Wright and Co law offices. How can we help you?... Huh? Oh really!? That's amazing! I'll tell him right away." She hung up the phone and turned towards Pheonix, "Hey Nick! Guess what?"
"What now Maya?" He said as he sipped his coffee
"That Rock girl wants you to be her attorney! What are the odds?"
Pheonix looked at her confused, the. To the paper, and then back to Maya, "Really? That's kinda spooky."
"Are you gonna take the case?"
He shrugged, "Depends. I guess we should go to the detention center and see her."
And so they did.

"FUCK!" Edgeworth groaned as he slammed his fist against the desk as he read the name court files. Why is it always Phoenix?? Why is it that I can never escape him? He sighed in frustration. The police chief had sent him the case files he asked for, demanded really. He breathed deeply Β to calm himself and picked up the phone again.
"Hello, sir." The loud, boisterous voice said cheerfully.
"I'm putting you in charge of the crime scene, however you are to follow my usual instructions and not allowed to release any information or personal evidence about my case to the defense unless I authorize you to do so." Edgeworth said calmly. He gave the same instructions to every detective he worked with, but felt the need to remind Gumshoe at the beginning of each case what his standards were.Β
"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Of course." Gumshoe's voice sounded happy. His pay had been cut again recently and this was his chance to prove himself again.
With that, he hung up and started reviewing the witness statements before meeting with them.
